Suggestion for equipment for the Tunesia campaign - my recommendations

The main concern I’d have with the 1921 commando with the drum is there isn’t really an Axis counterpart, whereas with the 20 round box magazine version, it has a clear counterpart in the Beretta 1918 Automatico. Box magazines were also more widely used, so even though a drum mag version would be cool, I’m not sure it could be introduced in a balanced sense.

As for Webleys, the MkVI would be a reasonably good addition as it would give the British something almost as good as the 1911, assuming realistic values, since you could load them with .45 ACP from clips, compared to the standard issue Enfield No. 2 which should be comparatively underpowered as a handgun.

Cough… Sherman… cough… DD Sherman was British designed,

Also .30 and .50 browining MG’s, and Spitfire, Beaufighter and Mosquito…

Just sayin’…

But definitely this is true :+1:

Don’t tell him anything about what powers late P-51s too, that could be too much.

Or that it was built for the Brits originally … to their specs…

I mean, I’m not entirely sure exactly how intermixing equipment on the Normandy campaign is ahistorical, when you had US, Canadian, and UK soldiers involved, and if you’re spending the time to make models for different weapons I don’t see how it’s lazy, but… yeah.

American soldiers did not use SMLE or Bren!

AFAIK the only British unit on US beaches was a RAF radar unit - they had quite a lot of casualties - but they were British and identifiably so…

Ok, but why should the Normandy campaign only be US beaches?

Because “Normandy” isn’t only beaches.

Trouble is the way the game is structured doens’t realy allow for different nationalities in same campaign - if you have UK/Canadian and US trees in “Normandy” then Axis gets an advantage by being abble to research just 1 nationality and apply it to 2 enemies.

It’s a bad design for having differing nationalities in a single campaign.

And you can imagine the howls of outrage froim the wheraboos if htey had to do 2 lots of research to fight 2 “Normandy” campaigns.

But why have separate trees instead of just an “allies” tree for the campaign and accept the ahistorical intermixing of equipment on soldiers for the sake of gameplay variety and greater representation of allied forces other than just the US?

That would be OK too - but they haven’t done it.

How about the Farquhar-Hill as the gold ticket weapon??

That would be reasonable, but what would you recommend for the Axis side equivalent? A Mondragon maybe?

Edit; or maybe the Selbstlader M1916?

I have no idea … I’m sure someone will come up with an idea - although probably they have already decided.

Edited with Gold Weapon Order suggestion. (Selbstlader M1916 and Farquhar-Hill)

My guess is this is the plan, but in due time

-WARNING- Yet another comparison with War Thunder ahead.

When WT was new (2013) it only had 5 nations (USA, USSR, GER, UK and Japan).

Of course, when the game is new, you try to put some original content, but at the same time you want to have most of the well-known iconic stuff, in order to appeal to the broadest audience possible.

It was no earlier than 2017 that the first new standalone nation, Italy, was added (TBH a Chinese tree already existed, but back then it was relegated to Chinese servers only). In the following years, they added France, China (for everybody), and latest Sweden (so far).

“Minor” equipment, meaning “less famous and mostly obscure to the general public”, is probably kept to be added later in a years long time span. That’s intended to both attract some new players with niche content, and at the same time feed long-time players (who already played the classics to hell and back) with new things to grind and try.

I mean, but we already have Commonwealth weapons in the Allied tech tree in Normandy, so what would the purpose be for them be removed just to be added back in later?

I’m not talking about just commonwealth, but possibly also guns / vehicles from any other nation from both sides.

I’d imagine that’d more fall under premium status weapons if it’s not a faction that actually fought at a given front, if such at all were to be a thing. But that’s different from the argument for commonwealth weapons / squads to be in the Normandy campaign alongside US weapons / squads.

Pretty sure France was added before Italy
