Suggestion: Command Squad and Officer Class Implementation

The Command Squad could function similarly to the commander role seen in Battlefield games, promoting team coordination and enhancing teamplay with XP incentives.

Core Abilities:

  • Designate Objective:
    • The officer opens the map and selects an area, functioning similarly to an artillery call-in. All allied soldiers fighting within this designated area receive bonus objective XP for all actions (there would obviously be no actual artillery being fired here).
    • Limited to one Command Squad per match, akin to vehicle or aircraft limitations.
  • Fortify Area:
  • The officer can designate an area on the map to encourage fortification building. Soldiers constructing fortifications within this area receive increased XP rewards.

Additional Features:

  • XP Influence Radius:
    • The officer provides an experience bonus bubble similar to capture point XP ticks.
    • Either timed or capped to prevent abuse.
    • Encourages multiple squads to move cohesively and operate within the officer’s radius, with a large enough range to avoid excessive clustering.
  • Flare Gun:
    • Officer can carry a flare gun to mark enemy positions within a specific area temporarily.
  • Survivability Buff:
    • Soldiers within the officer’s influence always go down (incapacitated) instead of immediately dying. (Consideration: This could also be a valuable ability for a Medic class.)
  • Support Abilities:
    • Optionally include Radio Squad support abilities such as ammo resupply and smoke barrages.
  • Special Map Markers:
    • Officer can place unique map markers indicating recommended attack directions.
  • Weapon Progression:
    • Officer begins with a pistol and unlocks an SMG, reversing the standard progression path of assault classes to emphasize leadership over direct combat.

This approach aims to incentivize coordinated teamplay, enhance tactical depth, and create a meaningful leadership role within each match.

No, I don’t want a class so one guy gets to pretend to be everyones boss for an entire game.

The officer role would be about coordination and incentivization, not command or obligation.
Players would be free to ignore any suggestions or marked objectives without any penalty.
The role simply adds options for strategic depth and teamplay rather than forcing players to follow orders.

It’s about the attitude of the player selecting commander. You know fully well how bossy some people could be if given even a hint of authority over other people. We don’t need this in the game. I don’t want a guy to have any reasonable reason to spend the game yelling at people in chat to follow orders, it’s not what the game needs.

Hi, it’s a good suggestion, but I would also add a few things that could change the gameplay experience a bit. For example, there should be some tutorials or a kind of match with bots for every new player who starts playing Enlisted. I’ve noticed in many matches that some players have no idea what to do they just install the game and jump straight into a match without being useful at all. Plus, many don’t communicate.

How about we add 2 extra AI squads to each side and make commander order them? (So it would be 12vs12 matches, even without commander.)
Imo it would be quite cool.

Aw hell yeah, now we’re talking.

I’ve always thought of this game as being Company of Heroes, just from another perspective.

If those two extra AI squads came from the Commanders own line-up, that would be sweet, then you could really play at being the Lieutenant of a infantry group. Gearing up the individual soldiers of your unit, actually learning your soldiers names…

Aw man now you got my hopes up.

Hope and expectations lead to disappointment. Welcome to enlisted.

Just play Hell let loose there they have maked good the commander system and when the commander is shit or plays the king over the other players should be a vote to kick option…
Here whould be better then HLL because of no FF its damn annoying when u want do things for your team and 1 idiot kills you over and over because of “he wants to be the commander” or just trolling griefing.

Enlisted is better then HLL or Battlefield and here we could do allso a commander system, i like the idea.
But with bigger maps and vote to kick option. And reminder to be a commander is takeing responsibility for the team and how it ends and i doubt there are lot of players here who fit this.

More new classes is the last thing this game needs.

They wouldn’t be properly implemented, just like any new class.

They wouldn’t have the usual tiers I/II/II/IV nor would they respect the limited F2P squad slots.
