Sadly, Pacific levels announced in latest news, Japanese can’t receive shotguns. However, during the WW2, Japanese firces used about 70,000 shotguns as a substitute of rifles in jungle warfare.
From 1942 to 1943, about 20,000 shotguns were donated to Japanese Army, and about 50,000 shotguns were donated to Japanese Navy by Greater Japan hunting association.
All of shotguns were delivered from civilian hunter, and breakdown was as follows.
Caliber: 12 gauge (18 mm)
Type:
Single-shot (probably bolt action Murata shotgun)
Double-barrel
Repeating-shot (pump-action / semi-auto)
I suggest to insert any shotgun in Lv11 with Type 95 military sword. It is very useful option for lots of Japanese soldiers!!

Browning Auto-5
A popular semi-automatic shotgun. It’s an expensive gun, but a certain number was imported and used by Japanese.
We need less meta and boring spammy weapons having a bit more variety trying different loadouts would be cool
For me the most fun combo is Berdan II paired with TT pistol on a Moscow campaign, i have the most fun with it. Too bad i cant equip my entire squad with it. It makes kills more rewarding and just feels different than your average meta
Having that shotgun paired with either a Nambu pistol or Smith and Wesson model 3 as a japanese soldier now that shit would be awesome
