Are you playing with a stack or playing against a faction with bad player or mostly bots? Because it is very easy to destroy those tank that push with infantry. Besides that, what is the average distance between you and the objective point when you are pushing with infantry?
Yeah its pretty easy to destroy tanks…I know it is. But in my 1800 games most players can’t get it done. On average you might have 1 guy on the other team that’s an actual threat.
average distance depends on where the infantry is. and what tank. But If I do have to bail out for whatever reason…it will be a few steps away from the cap with tank crews armed with SMGS to carry on the assault.

After 2 years and (some months) they haven’t dealt with grey zone campers, meaning? They don’t give a crap about it. And now, with “all the work regarding the new update” they won’t even bother trying to fix this. (Hope this way of speaking makes them to pay attention to this matter).
Using tanks to support infantry or be a royal thorn in the enemy running to the point is incredibly effective. But it does definitely depend on the match-up and how many of the enemy players are equipped with AT and are good with it.
I have matches regularly where I can wipe half of the enemy team by rapid firing near the objective towards their direction. I’ve also had matches where I can’t get near the objective because there’s a few people on their team that know detpacks / distance or are happy to wait with a bazooka. With a semi-competent team that actually supports the tank, the enemy detpacks are negated some because they kill the infantry. It is critical that you mark groups as the tank while you’re firing though.
^-> That all boils down to match-up. When you have an unbalanced match, IE lots of max on the enemy team and barely any on your team… You’re fucked because lower level players either don’t have the skill/desire/equipment to take out the enemy and just get mowed down. It depends more on match-up than anything else whether you can be an aggressive tank. But you can always support… It’s just a matter of how far back you need to be.
Personally, I’m NEVER in the greyzone and I usually do significantly better than anyone who is. It actually irritates me when I see a friendly taking up a tank slot sitting in the greyzone. But I hope that they are just badly in need of leveling. When a max level is doing it ugh…
Completely agree that I’d rather an enemy greyzone camping than be helping take / defend the objective. Let them farm kills and feed their ego. Useless imo unless they can snipe tanks from where they sit (and blow them up) or capable of spamming the objective with High Explosive.
