My Preferences after looking at these figures

Allies
Tier 1: Sten Mk 2
Tier 2: M3A1 SMG (Trying to aim with Owen is urgh…)
Tier 3: Lanchester
Tier 4: M1 SMG
Tier 5: M1928A1 Drum

Japan
Tier 1: Type 100/40
Tier 2: MP28
Tier 3: Type 2 SMG
Tier 4: Tokyo Arsenal Model 1927

Japan is a funny one cuz id say…
Their Tier 1 SMG’s are like Tier 2 SMGs
Their Tier 2 SMGs are more like Tier 3 SMGs
Their Tier 3 SMGs are more like Tier 4 SMGs
The Tokyo Arsenal is definitely Tier 5 SMG
The Machine Gun Pistol Mauser C96 would be the most balanced starting SMG for Tier 1 japan

USSR
Tier 1: PPD-34
Tier 2: PPS-43
Tier 3: PPSh-41 (box)
Tier 4: PPD-34/38
Tier 5: PPSh-41

Germany
Tier 1: MP34
Tier 2: MP 3008
Tier 3: MP40
Tier 4: Beretta M38 (40 rounds)
Tier 5: Kiraly 39M

We already have a community spreadsheet for this sorta thing.

Also, dps is pointless in the context that generally, if your gun is maxed, you theoretically shouldn’t need more than 2 bullets to kill someone.

Finally scientific proof that the FNAB is the worse gun.

Everyone that claims otherwise has lost his mind.

Isnt the PPSH supposed to deal less damage per shot since it uses a much smaller caliber?

The PPSH having exactly double the DPS of the MP40, while also having exactly two times the rate of fire proves that both bullets deal the same damage.

Kinda stupid.

Man even the Kiraly has less DPS than the PPSH, while having like 20 times the recoil?

That first unlock Thompson has a rather bad rate of fire which is comparable to MP40 if I remember correctly, which shows that 45 ACP has a somewhat significant damage advantage over other bullets, why isn’t 9mm supperior to 7.62 Tokarev in terms of damage output?

And that one here seems like proof to me that the MKB doesn’t deserve to sit in BR5

Yeah the USSR’s SMGs are in a league of their own! The only ones that can compare are the Cƶnders, and they’re golden guns. So you are limited to a max of 4 of those.

Raw DPS is meaningless. It does not include falloff, projectile speed, effective DPS, mag size, etc

In reality PPS-43 will generally outperform everything but the drum PPSh-41 (and the PPSh-41 only wins in raw CQC mulching power and still remains dogshit at anything more than room clearning) and proto-AK’s
Lanchester 50 is the best western allies SMG I used. Every single Thompson is utter dogshit compared to it. Outside of that, a full rifleman squad equipped with M2 Carbines top to bottom are better assaulters nowadays (however funny that is)
Type 2a → Type 2 are currently the best, hands down, Japanese SMGs available
MP34(o) (to save money early on) → MP40 → Beretta M38(40) → StG44, everything else is a waste of time. Kiraly is dogshit because it’s uncontrollable, unless they have fixed it in like 1.5 years since ive tried it)

Actually, I hated FNAB with passion, since before the merge, but when it was the only realistic option for BR2 Germany (before MP40 was mistakenly put down into BR2 and not PPS-43 sent to BR3) and I’ve come to appreciate it. It requires more skill, but because it is so stupidly controllable you can realistically hit close to every bullet you fire, possibly huge proportion of them being headshots. Sure, it falls short for brute force storming cap points literally full of troopers, but you still have grenades for that… :stuck_out_tongue:

Because DPS is the most important thing ever, lmao. Stats like horizontal recoil or dispersion do not matter whatsoever.

Btw. I pity the people who still have ā€œthe higher fire rate is, the betterā€ mentality.

I used to have this mentality back when even the supposedly hard recoiling weapons were still super manageable, nowadays I do agree that there are some weapons that have accuracy hurting recoil - though dispersion is still the number one stat that makes or breaks a weapon for me.

Agree. Raw DPS output is easy to calculate, but what ultimately matters is how much of that DPS can reliably hit the target.

As someone who played a lot of much faster paced overwatch DPS and game and the fact you can get dispersion reducing perks, those things dont matter much unless their recoil is on par with some of the LMGs

As far as I know, there’s only perk which can reduce increase of dispersion while moving or so.
There’s no way how to reduce base dispersion of the weapon.

Okay, good for you.

Ohoh!
Another thread that will probably end up as a Wheraboos vs Commieboos war!

IDK man, DPS was the most important aspect of a gun in Heroes and Generals.
DF attempted to balance things with insane dispersion but some guns such Fedorov or Mg42 early which don’t suffer from neither dispersion or recoil are just broken.

Mg42 early suffers because it has extremely high fire rate for its ammo capacity.
With big ammo bag, you can have only 50/150. Ammo boxes/two engineers that you have in your squad are essential for you.
Definitely not a weapon without drawback.

MG45 on other hand is completely different story.

I love how german ultra high rate of fire MG34 machine guns have like no recoil but the japanese LMG just aim to the moon as soon as you shoot 2 rounds

Doesnt get much better even if you mount the weapon

Last Japanese lmg has no recoil, thought  (but also weaker rounds…)
