Sturmpanzer 2 is not op at BR2

It’s much slower than your average Panzer 3/4, traveling up hill is a really herculean feat while Panzers can just drive much quicker than you despite spawning faster

It’s an open top vehicle with non existent armor, your reverse speed is extra awful so you can’t escape from the bombs or demo packs as you are so damn slow. Now soviets are receiving yet another buff to it’s rockets and they obviously can instantly destroy that vehicle, Americans can spam their M8 rockets at BR2.

Even BR1 tanks and AT rifles can pen and one shot your tank when hitting ammo rack that is really loving to explode.

It has no hull/top MG, crew is even more exposed than your usual SPGs.

Now let’s talk about shells - HEAT is extremely inconsistent and doesn’t do any damage a lot of the times, while HE can probably overpressure any tank at BR2/3.

HE shells are not as overpowered as people were expecting you rarely have big groups of enemies at one point, it’s practically always just 4-9 soldiers, Panzers with Heat/HE can easily kill more enemies. And as i have mentioned previously HE shells can overpressure enemies with no problem you don’t really need to aim like with HEAT, it’s a point and click adventure.

I think it’s pretty balanced i don’t think average two kills per pressing left every 10secs is “OVERPOWERED”. Alecto and M24 have amazing speed that let’s it to position up hill and a bit and spam it’s HE shells (Alecto shell should get a buff) while Sturmpanzer has more potent HE that is amazing vs tanks (not that great vs infantry due reload speed) but extremely slow movement and extremely explosive ammo rack.

I can see myself only using that tank to take out KV-1/T-34/Sherman and Grants, in any other scenario it’s weaker than Panzers with short 75mm, heat of sturmpanzer is just unusuable.

The heat shells are totally meaningless. It would be better to have only HEs for this tanks. They’re much more reliable against tanks, and better against infantry obviously.

They gave it HEAT shells to force you to move to resupply point way more often as precious HE shells are so limited. I forget to add to the cons that this vehicle has only 9 HE shells. So you can’t really spam anything for long

I highly doubt they would have thought such a thing, that’s way too complex for them. It’s far more likely that they were actually considering Heats as a better AT option.

Plus making it less inconvenient for player isn’t good and proper way how to balance things out.

What are you even talking about that the HEAT is a useless shell? The HEAT STILL OUTPERFORMS a KV-2 in terms of infantry combat, and with 185 kinetic penetration, there should be no issue to kill enemy tanks with this.

18 shells is plenty more than enough, with a 9 second reload, you are able to shell at an area for just over 2 and a half minutes.

And yet multiple times my shells just disappeared not doing any dmg to enemy tanks. It may be hit detection or server issue but it’s been happening too often lately to me, it’s not issue of just paper stats. I had same issue with Alecto’s HEAT shells becoming ghost shells. Besides even if they are not bugged they still deal pitiful dmg to ammo racks.

Penetration is not what matters here. They’re unreliable because of poor post pen dmg.

Its HE are much more reliable at killing other tanks. Heats generally have pathetic post pen dmg. And you need to really aim for ammo with them.
With its HE, all you need to do is aim near turret ring and you will OHK anyone.
