STUG III G w/ MG 34

Sorry for the long statement.

I don’t think it was a good idea to make the StuG III G, one of the most produced and commonly seen German vehicles in history, a premium vehicle squad for a high amount of gold. This makes it rare to appear in the game, and worse, it lacks an MG.

I believe what’s done is done, but the developers should consider at least creating a new version of the StuG III G with an MG 34 as a regular vehicle squad.

The developers shouldn’t sacrifice the entire German player base for the few people who bought the StuG III G premium model (even though I don’t think they will complain).

A better approach, which I doubt will happen, would be to refund the gold and cancel the premium StuG III G. This might cost you money, but I believe it will increase the game’s lifetime value and the hearts of German players.

Am I wrong? Share your suggestions in the comments.

The SU-76, the second most produced armored fighting vehicle in the soviet union, is also premium. I would really prefer if mass-produced vehicles like these were not premium, but I doubt this will change.

Quantity of the vehicle does not matter at all.

8400 StuGs III G = premium
1500 SUs-100 = premium
one prototype of Ho-Ri = available in tech tree

Combining both means won’t change the balance of both factions which is good.

For some perspectives, it doesn’t matter, but for players who want to immerse themselves in the WW2 experience (myself included), they want to see more StuG III Gs.

Mass produced vehicles have also been made completely unavailable by making them events, such as the universal carrier.

Another example for mass-produced premiums is the Sd.Kfz. 251, which I think was one of if not the most produced german halftrack.

Doubt it. Most player doesn’t even bother to use turretless tank destroyer in the game.
There might be few players that will be using it, that’s it, the effect will be very limited.
Moreover, there is already Stug 3F in the tech tree.

The effectiveness of a static turret depends on the map/level design as well as the tier of the vehicle.

And, while a turret might be static, explosives might have a greater area of effect, which is the point of assault guns.

Static turret vehicle didn’t have much advantage on the terrain in this game. The terrain most of the time will in fact block the view of the vehicle.

It is BR3, panzer 4 with long 75 cannon is also on BR3.

It literally use the same ammo as panzer4.

I suppose it might be more effective on Tunisia maps or current/future maps that feature fewer block elements and accessible views over longer distances

Are you sure that any of the Pz 4 variants feature the 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/48 gun which makes the whole difference between them?

Normal tank will also be effective in such terrain.

On Br3, there is Panzer 4 F2 having the 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/43 cannon which has slightly less penetration, Panzer 4 J has the 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48 cannon which has the same performance as 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/48.

I know normal tanks are effective in all types of terrain. You just said a static turret itself makes the vehicle ineffective, whereas I stated it has a greater chance of being effective compared to narrow terrains.

Wrong, the 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/48 stands out as one of the best anti-tank guns of WWII, not necessarily the most powerful, but certainly the best balanced. This gun, also used in the Pak 40, was the most manufactured and deadliest anti-tank gun of WWII. It could destroy almost any Allied tank head-on with a single shot, except for the Soviet IS tank and the Jumbo Sherman.

Moreover, the STuG III Ausf. G was not classified as a tank per se; it was categorized as an assault gun. Its name derived from its exceptional performance against infantry, particularly due to the explosion of HE shells, and it served as inspiration for today’s IFVs.

So why people will choose your static turret vehicle instead of tank?

Lol maybe do some god damn research? 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/48 and 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48 is basically the same thing.

Do you play too much arcade game like Company of Heroes to make you think that classified as assault gun will magically make the HE shell become better than normal tank that use the same shell?
Let alone the long barrel Stug are widely use as tank destroyer.

I did my research long ago.

According to your source: “The design of the KwK 40 was adapted from the similar towed AT gun, the 7.5 cm Pak 40.”

The design was based on the Pak 40, but they are not the same thing. Gun designs always adapt from previous models. Technology is collective.

I respect all genres but I personally don’t like arcade games, thanks for asking tho.

The StuK 40 L/48 was specifically designed for assault guns like the StuG III, which were intended to provide direct fire support to infantry units.

This gun has high-explosive rounds optimized for anti-personnel use and features larger explosive charges and greater fragmentation upon impact than KwK 40.

Lol they have the same length, use same ammunition and have same performance, they are basically the same in game.

Not the case in game, they use the same shell in game.
Please provide source for your claim.

If we ask hard enough for free StuG III G, DF will deliver!
Same happened to as44.

They could make both, a tech tree StuG with MG and buff the current one with an MG, the premium version still gets prem bonuses and special soldiers so i don’t see the problem, they could give it some new skin too if they wanted. It is not the first time they do that, Jagdpanzer IV L70 was a premium vehicle in Berlin and was added to the Normandie after that the tech tree, something similar happened with the regular Jagdpanzer IV it was one of the first event vehicles from Berlin then it was added to the tech tree with the merge.

Yes, but tech-tree Jagdpanzer is better, because it has tracks as additional armor on its front.

Not really, they already considered to add free AS-44 when premium AS-44 was announced.

Firefly should be a tech tree vehicle - it was produced 4 times more than Jumbos

all Stug variants should be tech tree vehicles, its was the true backbone of the German tank forces

SU 85 M is a much rarer version of the regular SU 85, why isn’t it in the game?

Valentine tanks and Matilda tanks should also be regular tech tree unlocks, they were equally common as Crusader tanks.

There were more ISU 152 build than IS 2 tanks.
