Is it just me or do they feel super random?
Sometimes I hit next to a group of soldiers and not even a hit despite the impact mark is shown on the ground next to them, other times I aim at a single soldier and 10 others way off get killed by it as well.
What’s with this inconsistency? Sometimes the impact radius feels like a small dot, other times it feels like you fired off a nuke.
Don’t have this issue with the Panzer 2, 3, 4.
I find the StuG III F’s HE shell quite reliable.
Hmmm, then I really don’t know.
I only tested the StuG against AI as my remaining squads aren’t ready for BR3 yet, but results were very random so far.
In comparison, experience with Pz III J1 and Pz IV E was a lot more impactful overall. Considering their HE shells should be weaker it leaves me puzzled.
Maybe your position or the ground changed, other minor details that are surprisingly important due to HE shell RNG.
Tank’s HE feels a bit random no matter the vehicle. Though it works most* of the time.
So don’t blame the stug. He is doing his best.
HE shells require to hit enemy soldier to be effective. If you see a group of soldier and shot HE between them - then nothing. But if you hit just one of them - all will be dead.
HE shells also have a tendancy to “skip” if they hit the ground at a low enough angle. Best to aim for nearby walls and other perpendicular surfaces.
True, I guess that StuG HE is difficult to use because of its low profile. Tank shells bounce off the ground around 5 degrees.
Last time I used StuG, I was in Tunisia shooting HE at a hill thus the low profile wasn’t a problem for me.
Gotta do more testing on this, it seems xD
As it currently stands, Panzer HE shells feel way more effective for some odd reason.
Will try to aim more directly at targets then.
it sometimes feels like that with the tiger 2,I shoot a wall right by someone in berlin and it doesn’t do anything and yet with my panzer 3J in tunisia I can lob a single shell in a sand dune and get a good explosion.
