Many of the WW2 bolt action rifles used stripper clips. Instead of loading one round at a time, a stripper clip would load the rifle magazine quickly. The clip fit into a groove in the action and then the soldier pushes down on the top round in the clip and all the rounds go into the rifle.
The use of stripper clips would reload the bolt action rifles in the game that used stripper clips to reload quicker. The jpeg shows Russian WW2 stripper clips empty and loaded.
I suggest that a perc for stripper clips could be added. I also suggest that stripper clips then be added to the area where you get ammo pouches, (pouches for stripper clips). I don’t know about making them a “cash” purchase item as that would give a player buying them somewhat of an advantage unless a non paying player can earn them in the usual manner.
Gamewise, Perhaps a soldier would need to reach a certain level to use the clips, however the clips were standard issue and used by Russian, German, US, and British bolt action rifles. Mosin-Nagant, Lee Enfield, Gewehr 98, 1903 springfield.
Incidently, the m1 garand in the game uses a clip, known as an En Bloc clip, so clips are being used in the game.
Stripper clips are being used by various bolt-action rifles with a full reload. You only single-load if you don’t empty the gun completely, or if it has a scope on it that blocks the ability of the rifle to load from stripper clips.
All bolt-action rifles that had a standardized stripper clip and if the action allowed for it can be loaded via stripperclip in game, as Evaris already said you have to empty the entire weapon.
All of the Semi-autos ingame that have no magazine to feed them also load via SC, namely the Gewehr 41.
The sniper rifles ingame CANT use stripper clips as the sight is afixed to the weapon and is blocking it.
There are exceptions where a stripper clip is not used, for example the Lebel rifle in berlin, as that gun did not have an action that could use stripper clips, as it had a tubemagazine.
We could also implement a perk to aim down the sight, that would be a marvelous feature. And a perk to allow yourself to crouch. Yes the function to crouch could be added that would be nice. One thing I’d really love to see is the use of magazines for smgs and… and… ok ok I’m leaving.
