I find it quite annoying I can play with only two regiments from the 1st Marine Division on Guadalcanal. What I find even more annoying is that you add Marine regiments at random when you can just add the Division in accordance with certain map releases. According to www.usmcu.edu, it says “On 22 October 1940, the Major General Commandant of the Marine Corps wrote the Commanding General, Fleet Marine Force, that it was his intention to organize the 1st and 2d Marine Divisions, each to be composed of the following:”
“1 Division Headquarters Company”
“*1 Guard Company *”
“1 AA Machine Gun Battery”
“1 Engineer Battalion”
“1 Tank Company (11 ½-ton tanks)”
“3 Infantry Regiments”
“1 Medical Battalion”
“1 Aircraft Group”
“1 Artillery Regiment”
Clearly, there could’ve been a 1st Marine Division Riflemen squad (it does not matter which regiment since each Division has three infantry regiments) since you added a USMC 1903A1 Springfield Rifle, but you gave it to some Army regiment. Do you realize the Army divisions were not malnourished and had standard issue M1 Garands?
It didn’t even have to be from the 1st Division, to be honest, since you have the 2nd Division, which participated in Guadalcanal as well. That makes it six infantry regiments and two engineer combat battalions from the two divisions that fought at Guadalcanal, and you could only choose one (two if we count the paratrooper event squad). You added in the 25th Reconnaissance Company, 25th Infantry Division, so why can’t there be a 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division?
If you have a good reason for not adding the 1st Marine Regiment, 7th Marine Regiment, and other Marine regiments in a distinct order, then please tell me because I currently do not see one.
