And it doesn’t have to be. I never said it has the same propellant, I said that it is a full propellant round. That just means that it doesn’t use reduced propellant for lower performance than the round usually uses. and there is no version of the 7.92x33mm that uses more propellant.
If you do not compare it to the 57mm round, as there is 24mm less propellant on it compared to the normal mauser round.
Why would you compare it to another round though ?

The normal mauser rifles, or the MGs, or the semi-autos. Anything that fires the full power 7.92mm cartridge should be more powerful than the StG and as such the StG should deal less damage.
Note that while I have said to be against using caliber as a metric for damage is not always a good thing, in this case it is a valid reason to nerf an OP weapon. I put gameplay above realism, but sometimes both are in-line with each other.
At the combat distances in this game, this is not a discrepancy. Both Full power and intermediate rifle ammunition can kill in one shot at distances below 500 meters. If anything, Full power ammunition ought to just be even stronger than it currently is.
honestly, i’m against people that claims that smg are overpowered.
in the case of the MP41, i don’t think it’s the MP it self it’s the problem.
rather, the other weapons feels a bit weaker.
although, i think buffs for other weapons would be much more needed than nerf another smg for the germans.
cuz either way, if rifle won’t be touched, it’s just gonna make things worse.
like, ok, you are gonna make this smg less effective, but at what price? keep the rifle less effective?
i don’t really think nerfing it’s gonna solve anything. as we are still speaking of guns.
which should technically kill in just a few bullets.

Again, it’s balance.
If you want to talk realism, every weapon in the game will down you in 1 hit, and the MP-43 will deal just as much damage as the full-length cartridges because the whole idea behind intermediate cartridges is that full-length is redundant.
Off course I don’t want devs to nerf one gun because others are trash. You should read the whole topic, we were talking about semi auto rifles too

I think the StG should be 3-hit just like SMGs, but have much better range than them at the cost of more recoil.
Semi’s should be 2-hit with pretty low recoil
LMGs should be 2-hit with pretty high recoil
Bolt action (snipers) should be 1-hit on torso/head, but have low damage falloff meaning they maintain that damage across long range
Pistols should be 3 hit just like SMGs unless a revolver
Then we can balance the guns after that based on the various stats.
For example, the M3 Grease Gun has a lower rate of fire than the Thompson, so to balance it out it could have faster reload or lower recoil.
