(im using an m3a1 5 stars in comparasion, but i dont have a sten mk II 6 stars i only have one 3 stars)
the sten mk II for what i have used it is utterly disgusting and shit, more recoil, less damage, rate of fire is slightly better, same magazzine capacity.
the sten mk 6 stars is better?
and if is not why would i use it?
Short answear, you don’t use it.
Sten is losing too much damage over distance, is super loud and just bad, forget this weapon and focus on other SMGs; Thompson is love, Thompson is life.
Before you lay your hands on Thompson, the M3A1 should be your choice, hell even Lanchester is better than Sten (of course we are talking about ingame stats).
EDIT: pro tip, if you want to check stats for the specific weapon just go to Logistics and check stats there, you don’t even need that weapon or vehicle unlocked yet and you can look for stats on all stars there.

I had by chance a 6star sten upgraded. Had not used it yet because when I unlocked the Sten I instant benched it again. Tried it out, was slightly better offc but still preffer the M3 tbh. Used that untill Thompson.
“Thompson is love, Thomson is life.” - Not in this game. Few of the American guns are any good because the iron sights are horrible. I get that it is historically accurate but in real life you don’t have just one eye, the peep sights get ghosted and don’t cause such a drastic reduction in what you can see.
I don’t see any problem here and I was successfully using this gun, tbh more from the hip than aiming, but when something was further away it was perfectly fine to shoot using sights, just look:
The other Thompson that is currently only available in Practice Mode is not so bad either, but charging handle that moves when you shoot disrupts your vision a bit:
