Would it be possible to have standing Classic Campaign servers in the customs that you could join as your Nation to play a specific “campaign” and those servers would also work for events. This could be a good option for those that want to play certain maps. These could also have banned gear to keep the classic element (think banning IS2 from Moscow maps etc).
