Everyone thinks that Stalingrad should be in Br 1-2 and Moscow in Br 3-4-5. : )
Many weapons don’t fit the maps already so connecting maps to BRs doesn’t really make much sense.
Many? That’s a pretty dishonest and manipulative choice of words
Ok, “some”
Sorry but I don’t remember every item in the game to correctly calcualte the ratio and use a proper word.
Stalingrad is the best map for bolt-action guns and slow gameplay, it’s perfect for new players. Also, the game will avoid fake Br 2 players:
Both Stalingrad and Moscow should be BR1-2-3 only.
The real solution is adding more late war maps for variety instead of having BR4 and BR5 players on these maps.
It is is funny that people here simultaneously say item BR should focus on balance, history be damned while at the same time saying that early war maps should be BR 1-2 and late war BR 4-5. I mean what’s the point. If item BR is not historical than why should that matter for the maps
Now of coarse I do lean towards the historical side, that’s my camp don’t get me wrong. If it was up to me I’d overhaul BRs. For example, I’d make the AVS 1-2 because it was an early war gun and discontinued not long after.
I am merely speaking meta about the contradictory views here. Even before the merge update the crux of all the debates were do the devs choose history or balance going forward. Well now you can’t use the PPSh drum in 1942 Stalingrad unless you’re also fighting alongside King Tigers and Stg 44s
Now just to be fair I will say I’m okay with the BR system as it is for now. I got my historical gripes and sure I dream that one day it will be overhauled, but I accept it as is……for now
Soviets would be op as hell. They would have avs 36, svt 38, svt 4, avt 40, fedorov, ppsh 41 drum and t34s while germans would only have kar 98ks, mp 40s, panzer 3s and panzer 4s.
I personally disagree, as I view that battles are a lot more dynamic and fluid than the base characteristics of whatever gear. Now of coarse don’t get me wrong I am not denying that obviously every item has its own inherent characteristics, I just never felt that anything in and of itself is insurmountable
It’s kind of like with current high BR battles between Germany and Soviets. Both have a wide assortment of top quality gear at that point, semi autos, automatic rifles, heavy tanks, etc, and yet matches are always a toss up. Sometimes you get a match where Germany is curb stomping, sometimes the Soviets are curb stomping. Does that mean that one moment Germany is OP, then the next Soviets are OP. The same can really be said for early BR.
It’s like back then before the merge update matches were a bit more rocky because you never really had full teams and for all you know you were the only human player against an armada. Now with full teams competence is at least marginally higher.
Regardless I honestly think the devs should test different BR systems. Let’s see how it goes
Plus it’s not like mechanics and such can’t be added to the game to change the meta in general. For example, I always felt it was a bit too quick to capture objectives.
well, i personally think in stalingrad 1-2-3
and moscow 1 to 5 br, moscow 5 br can be easily poznan 1945 whit some changes
brest 1944 whitout changes
I had a giggle when I read this - nicely framed, there are some absolute gems posting on these forums…
I wouldn’t say I’m ok with the BR system, I’ll settle for “it is what it is”… which aligns with your sentiment as well.
Nevertheless, I think Enlisted will eventually learn the lessons of WT, and try to separate the various equipment of the periods of WWII (gosh that sounds very Soviet oriented, but I digress). I think the biggest handbrake on this is player numbers. Atm the devs are torn between creating a complete arcade fantasmagoria that will give BF V a good run for its fan fiction title, and a solid quasi historical mode that has some reasonable (hopefully leaning towards the subtle) aberrations for the sake of nation tree parity.
Time will tell I guess, but bringing new players to the current version is hard work because there are constantly new FPS games being released. Enlisted had something relatively interesting with its squad AI based approach, but its dropped the ball over the last 12 months to create unnecessary content that waters down its key selling point.
