Stalingrad Campaign Review - NOT Pay To Win?

Spent a lot of time on this, so would be interested in hearing what you guys think about the term “pay to win” being applied to Stalingrad?

Stalingrad is clearly the least p2w campaign, mainly because of how garbage and nerfed all of the guns are, with the exception of course for the bolt rifles. No purpose in x8/full access pack when latest weapons such as mkb have fnab tier rate of fire. Personally I’m maxxed on both sides already and haven’t spent any silver, other than to buy some explosive packs. So yea, clearly the least p2w and the most newbie friendly campaign, as well as the “cheapest” one since you don’t have to buy any weapons.

I honestly feel somewhat uncomfortable with that paid pass, i bought it but after considering what we get and how it works out for ppl that haven’t paid i think its a mistake.

First of they promote this pass by telling us that we don’t have to play thought a campaign with lots of weapons we already got in other campaigns, but it feels logically not right to pay for what we already got after they introduced now premium squads. (ofc they didn’t said they would not introduce premium squads but it feels like too much of milking and as further discribed here maybe hiding iconic units behind a pay wall.)
Just imagine in a future update they make maybe a super iconic tank like the StuG III as a paid premium squad for us, just no.
On the other hand side it feels so wrong to exclude players from so much content in a F2p game, i think that should be handled in a different way.

I think a approach that satisfies everyone would be really favorable, if i would be a freemium player i would be a bit pissed honestly knowing that im just super far behind and cut off from lots of content which shouldn’t be the way such campaign work out for ppl, i just feel that content like weapons and alike should be free like it is in every other f2p game. I maybe can’t describe into very detail what it is but all i can say that this monetization method feels wrong and i really wish that it well be handled differently in the future.

Just look at the newly introduced skins other company’s make countless millions from that, better make content free for everyone and make it more likely more ppl play and get that extra income from skins and give the ppl that bought the pass some compensation or different features.

After all i had no intention to go so hard on this but for days i felt like i needed to say that.

So that are my two cents on that and a great video which i found nicely made and pretty informative. :face_with_monocle:

:joy:

But true, i love the “new” bolt actions, would like to see maybe at a certain campaign level a sub tree with more of those which maybe would be “displaced” in later campaign levels.

With the exception of the MKB, I don’t really have an issue with Stalingrad’s balance.

Y’all fucking crazy if you think the MKB is bad though.

Darkflows mistake isn’t making the MkB paid only, it’s including the MkB in the first place. Yet another campaign that devolves into full auto spam late game.

As a F2P player, I don’t feel at a disadvantage, it isn’t any different than in other campaigns where players with XP boosts could get to end game with the best equipment and vehicles. The difference now is I have better bolt actions or my Winchester lever action. You get everything you need as a F2P player to succeed.

To be absolutely honest here, while I really think it was a big mistake to lock campaign levels aways from F2P players, they are actually not at a huge disadvantage but that is solely because of the bolt-action buff. I could transfer full-star Gewehr 41 to Stalingrad from other campaigns, but I don’t because bolt-actions is all I need.

Locking the first T-34 behind a paywall is a mistake as that would cripple the capability of F2P players to effectively deal with enemy tanks making them stuck with T-70s. Sure they can get KV-1 but for how long which would take awhile to see more KV-1s in the fight.

I have to use my T-34 at times when such players struggled in killing Panzer IIIs which is annoying to do when that happens.

To be fair t70 can kill or engage all german tank, i agree with “t34 is to iconical at least the first one is to be free”, but the free to player are not naked
