Are the squads in the current event those that Stalingrad buyers get without grinding or are they still coming? I´m gone for a couple days and they´re showing 2 more events up our butts god damn.
nope since they are assault squads not engineer squads
Nah these are assaulter squads. Personally I think the owners of the Pass should get two more engineer squads for the German and Soviets. But thats me. I’m still grateful for what we get but I wish that we got something a bit more unique ig
I wouldn´t have complained if we got those like 8 or something squad slots for germans and Soviets.
I just realised that the german assault squaud is a Waffen SS unit that fought in the Ardennes offensive. Fitting with the new Battle of the Bulge map, nice thinking on that front except that they threw in a Soviet event sqaud instead of an Allied one.
The 600th SS Fallschirmjäger battalion participated in the Siege of Budapest.
While in the battle of the Bulge there was only a detachment under the command of Otto Skorzeny.
Yes under Panzer Brigade 150 as is the squad in the game. While the Soviet 350th Infantry Division never fought in Budapest. Maybe the 1180th Rifle Regiment did somehow but I couldn´t find anything on that.
I don’t know about this either, but I doubt we would be getting Budapest maps/campaign.
So even if 1180th did participate, it would be a lucky coincidence rather than a confirmation.
The naming for the squad all around is strange. The 150 Panzer Brigade was in part recruited FROM the 600th SS Fallschirmjäger Battalion, not part of it. And the 150 Panzer Brigade weren’t Fallschirmjägers, as this would depict them, but saboteurs in American uniforms. And many believed that those commandos were represented by the event Silenced MP-40 squad (which is named after an infantry division that took part in the Battle of the Bulge).
If anything, I think this squad is based on the Fallschirmjägers from Operation Stösser, which was the last German paradrop of the war and was also part of the German Offensive in the Battle of the Bulge. They were hastily assembled from the few remaining Germans with parachute training and the unit didn’t have a name.
