Ive always wanted to mention this why does it cancel the orders if you are 1 foot too far from them!
Why not have it that they wont hear or respond to you until you return to within their distance.
I hate having them stop swimming across a river half way because they are too far from me

So far, the only way to make your squad stop following you for good (besides trapping them somewhere with buildings) is ordering them to hold a cap point.

I love these developers and love the game, have spent about 50 euroes and hundreds of hours
but this automatic return to leader programming is ridiculous
Oh my god, they are that annoying, sometimes i just send them on ahead to their deaths, just to get them out of the way.
It shouldnt be this way, but it is because of basic silly programming
The Devs most likely want to avoid players hiding their squad in a corner of the map and going solo.
So they must stay either with you, or in a zone where the action is supposed to focus.
what is wrong with hiding your players, there is already a grey zone, ai isnt intelligent enough to be in the safe zone, so they most likely die when the zones change anyway
also for the amount of money it costs for premium packs etc
is not fair to have your bots doing something normal?
Hiding your players will not Cap points, I also thoughts deva made your bots catch up with you, aka run faster than normal to keep up.
Bots are designed to cap points when no one else is. Send them to a cap point, camp with them, or keep em close enough you can solo your job before rejoining them.
Setting formation to wide also increase this distance. Reccomend ordering them to sit while you fire off grenades then switch to another once out of grenades.
At least part of it is to discourage camping afaik. People like to hide behind friendly lines for the entire match if they can, using squad as extra lives. The point being the only place you can realistically send your squad, actually makes sense to me, as otherwise I think nobody would be in there half the time.
That being said they do have some annoying behaviours (moving train on Berlin anybody?)… Very short range on stay orders. I would not mind it being increased a bit, to make it more useful. Right now they cancel it if I move from the kitchen to the living room. But the camping problem is real, people absolutely love to play safe if they can (even as attackers), and it should not be made too easy.

yep on pacific campaign they go into the hills at the side of where you spawn, and park there sniping you off
so annoying
