It is a known issue that is still waiting fixing since the merge, Tier 2 squads require sometimes more XP than Tier 3-4. many have complained but still, nothing.
There is no consistency or balance between the XP and Squads, I know it is a mess left after the merge but still not fixed. The demand varies like in the case of mortars for Germany, USSR and Japan (did not unlock USA yet).
When training a new squad, it’s just a pain until you get engineers and 25% XP boost.
They are forced to fight with a poor squad of four soldiers who are not capable and cannot wear backpacks or other equipment.
It’s still better if you have a team like Germany or Japan where you don’t have to contribute to the team to win, but it’s stressful to use it in a match where your team will lose if you are not careful.
And because the experience required is unnecessarily high, this period of suffering lasts for days.
Tier 3 assault squads, such as those added after the merge, have moderate XP requirements and are fun to train. I wish all squads had similar XP requirements.
However, people say that the low XP requirement of Tier 3 is a “bug”.
Exactly and this ties in with people complaining that not enough rally points are built. They forget that, when you level so slow your squad, not everyone knows to go for XP and Engineer first, new players maybe want to upgrade their weapon so they try to unlock those, or unlock Soldier level/rank.
Taking also in consideration the lack of balance and optimisation in matchmaking, you can end up taking 4-5 battles to get 1 level for your Squad.
I really wish they would lower the XP requirement to level up squads. They probably built in a design that intentionally makes customers suffer so that they will pay Gold and skip leveling up.
This game has microtransactions in every possible place, which I don’t think is a very good deal.
I think they are also bugged because the extra ammo talent does nothing, still 9(+1) mortar shells with or without the Extra Ammo Skill Unlocked on the Mortarman
