🇬🇧 Squad Sandbox Customisation: Response to Operation Transparency

I had conisdered making that a part of the suggestion (as in choosing squad type) BUT, not all currently existing squads have the same specialists

i.e Some engineers cant build mg emplacements, some have double AT specialists etc etc

Then there was making all one vehicle lineups and i just left it…

So i thought it would be messy (more work). But yeah, I had thought about it, and do like it as you say

I firmly believe in standardization. I’ll figure out something.

That’s why it’s split into Engineer I and Engineer II squads currently. And it can still carry over. And naturally, the Engineer II will cost more than the Engineer I squads.

The only squad that doesn’t carry over is the Russian MG I. I think it’s the only MG squad without an assaulter or medic in it. However, the squads can be faction related too, as it would still keep some nation identity to have different squad setups.

My only question is:

Will the squads be completely upgraded when we buy them?

Many can argue with me on this, but I think the whole idea of upgrading a squad is kind of pointless. I’ve already grinded 100,000+ for the weapon and squad, all I should need to do is upgrade the classes’ abilities and weapons. We shouldn’t have to build a squad from scratch.

I might actually make a post on that.

The messiness is more for those of us that have all the legacy squads. For example I have 3 AT squads 1s for Allies. One doesn’t have the same specialists as the other two.

Standardization would probably need to happen

You can if you like…or i can just add it here. I already had it ready for the mock up, i just removed it because hadnt thought it through enough

not to be the black sheep, but as explained in another thread:

that is not possible to do.

because how the core game of enlisted works:

so the " easiest " solutions are two:

  • add all clothings to all squads presets ( somewhat similar to the current system, but the " segregation " would have to go )

  • add new separate squads buyable with the missing squad classes ( italians / british flamethrowers, sniper squads, italian riders, apcs, pilot missing types etc )

Oh just suggested something along those lines yesterday (@ErikaKalkbrenner did link the thread above when quoting her response; will quote what I wrote below at the end).

While clearly not easy to do, I still believe that a corresponding change of the squad system is warranted, in order to bring it into line with how the squads are now used on different maps of different “theatres of war” (i.e. to adjust it to reflect those changes in gameplay and squad use on maps + to give players a customization option using all those appearance orders). It just would make a lot more sense IMHO, but I never said (or believed) it would be something that can be done easily

Also since the merger I practicaly play with the same 4 squads, only very seldom switching something in (and doing that only if I feel like leveling them a bit more)… - …but then again I am someone who tries to equip the squads to reflect their historic loadout if possible (I know crazy +lol+).

I think the point is it needs to evolve…Its completely obsolete and needs a rework. Merge left it even further behind.

its not the first time “core” components have been remade

welll…

as much i would too for a different system.

but as someone who used to be… important told me

hence, sorry for cross posting, but

this is more feasible as it requires less and uses the current system.

it’s also more controlled.

because it doesn’t actually change the core system to a point where you would have endless work and possible bug reports happening.

adding new squads is the solution.

even though i’ll be the first one to admit that it’s going to be even worse for the this fella:

which appears to be only 1.

And its a good idea and I support it. :+1:

But This is about making a better system, more than working with what we have. wishful thinking perhaps…but aim high

as much i understand it,

unfortunately things are not as they appear to be. or simple as one would like to think.

it’s like, if a car has a paint issue, it can be fixed.

but if the issue on the car is in the surperstructure, that’s very hard to fix ( i think… i’m not… good with analogies or cars )

point is, personally, i wouldn’t mind making your own squads etc.

but dealing with all the issues and shortcomings that might bring is just a headache not worth chasing.
neither for us as we might accidentally lose stuff or them having to keep track of all squads.

Im talking about throwing out the car and rebuilding from the ground up :stuck_out_tongue:

sure.

but i just don’t see this ever happening in light of recent comments from said person.

and definitely not when the person working for customization is only one. ( which that person doesn’t do just cosmetics )

just spitballing, but I see this as no different than keeping track of our currencies and squads when merge happened.

As long as they know our total number of squads to each account, It shouldn’t matter. As squads are now a blank template and each player can just make them how they want, or put them back

But whatever. I sincerely hope they do something about this “1 cosmetics” guy…not nearly enough attention (as in get him some help)

tried to help that brave soul my self.

but it turns out the editor has different IDS and name items than the base game so…
( now, to be fair, i did attempted to found out the full list of clothes or how it functioned, but not a singe helper was able to help either. )
i’m rather useless on that front

and no, i have no intentions of becoming an alpha team tester.

I think this one should be dependent of your chosen emblem. Funny to see USMC Emblem to say it’s the 506th PIR of the 101st Airborne.

I think this is the best and easiest way to do. Squad name and emblem doesn’t matter much when you can just dress your troop however you want.

Well thats the beauty of it…no one else sees this at all.

So those that care will choose properly…those that dont care and or know any better wont affect anyone that does care

Make sense I guess. It’s a win for everyone.
