you wont be able to play a full commonwealth lineup of specific squads even with legacy squads. Not enough UK squads in tunisia

Could always create more for any specific nation , for example Japan could do with more squads as well.

To be honest I’d rather have @CaptainBeel idea of generic squads that we can barbie up as we see fit regardless of nationality.

You can, actually. I made a mod that, before the most recent update, had like 11 british squads.

Plus new ones as well. For example, there is no British Medic or Flamethrower squad
This also means adding appropriate faction weaponry to the RT
Ultimately I eventually want Britain and Italy to have distinct lines under their parent family

Thank you! It just seems the most logical to me.
They could restrict uniforms to some degree if its considered necessary by the playerbase i.e cant have American helmet with British uniform or Chinese torso, American legs and Brodie helmet type situation.
Other than that yeah just open up customisation to all squads and get rid of the specific unit names.
I believe someone suggested patches and similar in another thread so maybe in future DF could add specific units like a Big Red One patch for example for further customisation.

Hear hear. Myself and others have suggested (and I think this is what you mean) having the different nations with separate lines of tech similar to how we have Rifles SMGs, LMGs, special weapons etc.
Ages ago I posted about adding ‘foldered’ mini tech trees like these, using a system like in this forum with foldered comments.
So for the Western Allies it would be something like:
USA -click to open tech tree-
(USA tech tree as normal with the different weapon and vehicle classes)
UK - Commonwealth -click to open tech tree-
France -click to open tech tree-
Etc.
This would also allow for ‘smaller’ tech trees, within a faction as they would just be another option to grind rather than requiring a whole new faction. There are a whole bunch of suggested tech trees on Reddit, some smaller than others, that could be included.

Not all players are willing to upgrade those squad from the beginning just for the sake of getting squad of different nationality.
