Since 2020, there has been a lot of improvement with regards to squad and soldier management and thanks to the devs and the community suggestions for that. However in my frustration today, I have come here again to suggest another feature which I hope would be considered for implementation.
Just a little earlier from the time I’m writing this, I was just trying to reassign some soldiers in my squads in the German faction. It’s been a while but I do remember vaguely having a soldier with a medal (one that gets bonus XP) but I could not find him. I had to comb over all of my existing squads, one by one, in search of that soldier with the medal. It took me couple minutes and it was pretty tedious and it surely gets annoying.
So to avoid this thing happening again, I came here to suggest that the “Change soldiers” under the BATTLE tab, which normally shows the soldiers in the currently selected squad soldiers and the reserve soldiers, be a complete list of ALL the soldiers (including the ones assigned in inactive squads). Like it could be at the bottom of the list, below the reserve. This should also give the ability for the player to just drag a soldier from another inactive squad into the current squad being edited so long as their role fits and that it doesn’t remove a soldier from an inactive squad with the minimum amount of soldiers (which I think is 3 to 5 soldiers). This should help players in optimizing squad management so players can pick out ones with medals, roles, better ranks or perks. As I noticed that while scanning through all my squads, there were like rank II or III which were left out in inactive squads that I have maxed out and don’t use anymore. It’s pretty tedious to take soldiers out manually into reserve before I can put them into my new active squads. My suggestion basically just makes assigning of soldiers in a squad easier as it is more direct, dragging or swapping directly from inactive squads to another instead of having to put them first to the reserve.
I currently have two soldiers with medals, one AT gunner 1 that I got back from pre-merge, and another one being a tanker which I got recently. It was just annoying having to remove them manually from time to time to reassign them to a new squad whenever I feel like changing BR (especially for tanks since squads are limited to certain BR levels), or worse if I forget what squad they were last assigned to. I definitely don’t want to spend a lot of time scanning through all my squads again.
