Squad indicators for the minimap

I’m not sure whether this would significantly contribute to lag, but I’d like to suggest/request a thin circle around each active player “spot ID” to signify the “area their squad occupies”.

This is just an approximation, or circle of probability, based on the random dispersion of the squad members. The circle would shrink as the squad members die until such time as there is only the player dot left.

This would help in coordination of attack and Defence.

In Attack, I can see roughly the weight of numbers pushing to an objective, as well as gauging the convergence across the frontage.
In Defence, similarly I can see the gaps in the line and with the shrinking circles estimate where reinforcements need to go.

Some of the more experienced players probably do similar estimates already, but a visual representation of the relative strength of friendly forces on a given point of the map could mean the difference whether to reinforce or go for a flank maneouvre.

Does the game not already show you all allied soldiers and your squad members separately? Or am I severely misunderstanding what you’re saying?

It does, but I was being cheeky, the location of ones own soldiers is only relevant to the controlling player. The location of the other soldiers is somewhat misleading given the randomness of the bots. By showing you the active players and then the zone representing their relative sphere of influence where the bots hang out will tell you where the actual player is and therefore what they can and can’t influence as far as effectively engaging the enemy is concerned. The circle of probability just shows you where they could be next if their current soldier dies.
