Squad Controls... where are they?

Newbie here - I’ve read and even watched some YT videos talking about squad controls, like hold, attack, etc.
All I can see on my screen is ‘X’ Defend that point…
Even when I hold Alt, the only movement control is the formation.
Where can I find the other squad controls?

When I press K it just switches the mode of giving order to individual soldiers, rather than the entire squad… I don’t get any additional commands.

Ah sorry you have to press x for all squad order and press k for individual one

X is just the order to defend a point. When I use it, they all congregate at wherever it’s marked, at most 20 m away.
Is this the only way to issue commands?

which one?

it’s only the X afaik (and the hold alt option). The order you give depends on where you aiming when you press X. when defending and aiming at CP, it will be “defend point”.
as attacker and aiming at CP, it will be “attack point”.

if you aim at other place other than CP, it will be order to go and hold position.

they are useless since the result is the same only works in trenches.

You can also use it to order your bots to attack a tank, dismantle a construction (still bugged last I checked because they like to partially dismantle things but won’t finish), or for engineers to finish building something you as an engineer started.

When ordered to attack a tank, usually just 1 of your bots who either has a molotov or a detpack will run up to a tank and either immediately throw a molotov on the engine deck, or cook the detpack all the way and time throwing it so it detonates on impact.

It took me 90 hours of in game time to realize that you can ask your squadmates for ammo. It’s useful if you have one soldier with a better weapon than others.

Just use the alt key and immediately there should be the ammo request.

You can also ask for an ammo resupply point to be build but it’s a different thing and is actually a request to your teammates which they might very well ignore.
