As the title said, the crosshair on the scope is simply not clear enough, making the gun almost unnusable.

Yup, that’s been my experience too. I think they ought to thicken it slightly so that it’s easier to see. If I’m using a scoped bolt-action on the US team, it’s an M1903A1 with the vertical post and two horizontal posts. I never, ever, ever use the M1903A4 and don’t think I even bothered to grind with the proper squad to upgrade it, no point, the retical is almost invisible.
It’s the same or even worse with Kar98 scope but i like the way it is. It takes snipers to invest some time to master kills at long ranges and aim more carefully not just do simple ‘where you point there you get a 100% kill’ across entire map like in cs:go. It seems that there is also little bullet drop present which adds to realism. I love sniper rifle mechanics.
Jup, great gun terrible sight. Been like that for ever, hoped they would have fixed that by now so we can actually start using the gun.
There is bullet drop, yes, so long-distance can take a bit of fine-tuning otherwise the bullet might be dropping too quickly. There is also bullet travel, meaning the bullet doesn’t arrive instantly, so when trying to hit moving targets at a distance you have to aim for where you think they’re GOING to be rather than where they are at the instance of pulling the trigger. So yeah, long-range shooting has some inherent difficulty and I don’t think it’s reasonable to compound that with a barely-visible optic.
