How many times have you have been blind sided by the enemy in an ambush?
How many times have you have been in a plane and had no marks as you were flying in?
How many times have you had to fire blindly with artillery?
How many times have you asked your team to mark the enemy and had absolutely no response?
How many times… You get the picture.
Can we just adopt a modified version of the War Thunder spotting system please?
Each unit will have it’s own unique “visibility” score. Bigger units get a bigger score.
This score will change as the unit is shot by friendlies, or shoots and attracts attention to itself.
Of course friendlies can still “spot” targets. As an incentive, they could receive partial credit if that unit is killed while “spotted”.
This is just the base level of a spotting system mind you. What say you all? How could we implement a system that makes the game more enjoyable to play?
You mean sth like camouflage mechanic in WoT? (But with markings instead of the whole tanks.)
I had an idea to implement that by reworking radiomen in general, might be worth an entire thread.
So if a friendly is within ~25m of you, you would see automatically spotted targets.
If you have a radioman in your squad or are in a vehicle, you also see them from anyone who also has a radio.
Manual spotting would still appear for everyone everywhere.

“War Thunder spotting system”
disagree , because can be destroy the hiding mecanism, you know this mecanism very important thing for game experiances
5-a) But can be creating a new class (explorer , recon) or something like that and bots can be auto marked the camera look at side enemys , i dont think much about on this just a basic idea
I like that suggestion Shanghai_Shrek. Outside of the Radio Squad itself where the artillery time is drastically reduced; the radioman is pretty weak.
The problem with spotting is the controls are not clear or easy for some to use, I spot all the time, I guess it depends on the players in the game at the time. Tanks have to be spotted, arguments for not spotting and just killing also need to be considered, if you just kill the enemy why would you spot, I always spot for my boys, so they look in the right direction.
I’ve noticed in the short time I’ve been playing more people spotting; however, in general just how to play is seriously lacking across the board. Spotting being no exception.
I’ve been using the mortar team lately and those spots are drastically helpful.
Giving the Radio man some type of Auto spot feature would be interesting and a reason to use them outside of the Radio Squad itself.
I’ve come to notice that the spotting marker doesn’t always go where you want it. It may hit the window frame right in front of you instead of on that Jerry trying to hide on the tall grass. Then your teammate, with the mortar or radio, calls steel rain down on you.
Lettuce_MayoAndOnion from the Reddit forums suggested this:
I bound my mark button to left trigger so that every time I shoot at an enemy, it marks it.
That man is a genius! I’ll be going now to do just this very thing.
edit I’ll still retain the ability to mark them w/o shooting as well.
For all that is Holy, please SPOT.
Tanks’ marking hitboxes need to be fixed though. Because trying to mark tanks can be a bitch sometimes.
