I think each faction should have some special buff. Here are my ideas for USSR and Japan.
Japan: Buff to melee charges. Japanese troops melee charging will be able to strike up to 5 enemies before stopping as opposed to 1.
Russia: Whenever a Russian squad spawns in, nine AI Conscripts spawn in at no ticket cost. The Conscripts have nothing but a Mosin and are more aggressive in pushing forward. They yield half the normal xp when killed.
Any suggestions for USA and GER?
Plasma cannons and laser beams
Definitely not. I don’t like any kind of similar artificial perks. Enlisted isn’t hero shooter.
I would say these perks are fairly well based in reality. Japanese soldiers trained more extensively with bayonets, and the Russians had massive amounts of manpower.
I like the spirit of this post but this might be a little OP.
My suggestion
Japanese: Banzai charge! Your entire squad joins you when you do a bayonet charge and if your the last man in the squad you get no sprint penalty after a bayonet charge.
Soviets: They already have a faction advantage because they get body armor, which gives a %10 damage reduction to body shots. But I do like the idea of a horde of russians coming at you like they are famous for.
Germans: Reload and switch weapons 5% faster because of meth “Panzerschokolade”. But seriously, the Germans where famous for using performance enhancing drugs during the war.
Americans: They can spawn one more plane as long as its not a repeat of a plane thats already in the battlefield. This plays on the idea of Allied air power which was a decisive edge for them during the war.
Extras:
British could have two more bombers when they call in a Bombing run. Again Allied air power.
Italians can switch teams?
Im honestly having a hard time finding a special trait for Italian squads.
I think that the 5 kill charge is fine, they have to reach the enemy first without dying. But I like having your squad join in. How would it be implemented though?
Soviet body armor is pretty much only for those with appearance orders.
Meth would probably make you shakier and twitchier. Could translate to German AI soldiers automatically marking enemies and being more paranoid or aware, but not so much better at fine motor skills like weapon handling.
An extra plane may be too much. Maybe their planes could repair minor damage at the air resupply.
Oh god please no,i dont want to fight an AP4,P47,and A20 all at once while getting a small 5% buff to reload,I feel that would massively skew the allied plane balance even further than it already is.i feel other bonuses would be better that dont involve extra veichles, otherwise to counter germany would get an extra tank slot to balance the extra plane.
ironically enough they stopped meth after 41 but that was just over the counter pills while the “panzerschokolade” was just heavily, i do mean heavily caffeinated
Good question, if I was talented enough to be a progamer/game dev this is how I would implement it:
Conditions
- Formation must be in close formation
- All squad members must have a bayonet on their weapon.
- Only squad members that are within 5m of the squad leader will parricipate(so if you have squad mates that are stuck on an obstacle or something they will not try to banzai charge by themselves)
Execution
- Any squad mates within 5m of you will join you at which point they would form a rank formation that you cant steer very much.
- Any enemy that comes into contact with any memeber of the Banzai Charge with will die instantly.
- Members of the Banzai Charge that come into contact with enemy soldiers will end their charge but the rest of the Chargers will continue to charge until the leader has hit an enemy or until the leader runs out of stamina.
First, have you ever met a functioning meth addict? Lol.
Second; Make the Panzerschokolade a consumable like a Medkit, so you have to choose between a slight buff or a second chance at life.
I agree, this is a good compromise.
