Spanish and Latinos in Game

This post is going to be a bit strange but I want to suggest the following: Spaniards and Latinos in the game with their own voices, if they have been able to include the Chinese, I don’t think it would be so “complicated” to make some event squads or even premium to give some variety to the game, as I know little about Latin Americans, I prefer that someone with more knowledge can help me in the post, but on the Spanish side let’s start:

Axis: It is not very difficult to know, anyone with a little knowledge of history knows that the infamous blue division fought for Germany, brave, fierce men sent as volunteers to fight on the Russian front and a few in Germany and the Pyrenees, could be riflemen, assault, guerrilla, etc. and if someone need, censor their emblems

Allied Forces:
We have several groups, there are surely more but the ones I know are the volunteer corps that fought for the British and those of the ninth division that fought to liberate Paris, remnants of the Spanish Republic

The spaniards in british army

assault,guerrillas,riflemen,pilots,tankers,etc.

“la nueve” emblem

Soviets:

This facet is little known, but YES, the Spanish also fought for the Russians, Leningrad, Stalingrad, even the defense of the Kremlin.

and I am sure you wonder, why no japan?, Franco HATED japan people, he almost start a war against them

There was one unit from Mexico, escadron 201, which fought in ww2. They flown P-47 fighter-bombers against the Japanese in the Philippines.

Also from South America, but not spanish speaking, 25,000 men from Brazil fought against the germans in Italy as part of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force.

Awesome! Id like to see this implementation. It brings more historical Accuracy to the game. Thanks for posting!

Of all nationalities, this one would for me be the most disappointing.

Lets first add Romanian, Hungarian, Soviet minorities Greeks etc.

There are even many more interesting options like the Mongolians who fought for the Soviets.

Adding Spanjards I guess … but especially South Americans like mehhhh

Of all possibilities they just seem the most bland.

Idk why, maybe I am just a hispanophobe lol.

(Dont get me wrong, would stil be interesting, there are just better options in my view)

Hear hear!

Its so frustrating the refusal of games to acknowledge its a WORLD war.

I support the post idea though I agree there are other more prominent nationalities Id like to see first.

For example Battle for Italy - Monte Cassino and Tobruk could both see Free Polish and New Zealand troops added.
There were also Australians, Free Czechs and British Indians at Tobruk.

Very surprised Canada hasnt been added yet. They were the first to land on D Day yet we get NOTHING Canadian.

As Ive always said for christs sake give national guns a squad and free uniforms.

Eg. Owen gun - Australia (New Zealand uniforms should also be available)
Ross rifle and Sten (which is Canadian) - Canada
Vickers-Berthier - British India

Kiraly - Hungary

Mannlicher M1895 a specifically Austrian squad would be nice.

The list goes on.

France, Australia & New Zealand, Canada, Poland, China are the main nations that MUST be added and soon!
I believe France & Poland (along with the Netherlands and Belgium) should be their own faction BR I-III, maybe IV.

Commonwealth countries obviously within the Allied tree (separate UK-Commonwealth tree would be better).

At the moment it seems like China will be a sub faction of USA.

I honestly feel the pain. It was a world war. Their should be many nationalitys involved (most of the world) British Indians, Australians, Canadians all played a big role. So did the Irish as im proud to be and many more! I love this game its all i play but its frustrating alot of it what its missing from small things like uniform, to nationalitys and languages. Has potential to be the best ww2 game ever made yet.

Exactly.

Some Irish names or voicelines would be cool in British squads. Did Irishmen actually fight in the Wehrmacht?

I thought some Irish just assisted or spied for the Germans.

Fun fact: Australia and Canada had the 4th and 5th largest air force in the world by 1945 (4th or 5th place is debated whether youre Aussie or Canadian)

But yeah super frustrating when Canada is really easy to add (just put CANADA on the side of existing Brit uniform and use American voiceline)

We already have AUS and NZ uniforms as assets but they refuse to add them as customisation options (theyve done it before for British officer cap from a premium squad)

We have French voicelines, weapons and even the Resistance yet not a single French Army squad!

I support adding our Chinese allies but China was a rather strange choice imo when the only map they make sense on is Burma and they are weirdly shoe horned into USA tree.

I dont like saying certain things here with moderators but yeah some irish fought for Germany. A small number of Irishmen joined the German forces during World War II, including a handful who ended up in the Waffen-SS. However, their numbers were extremely limited, and they were more of an anomaly than a significant presence.

One of the most well-known Irishmen associated with Germany was James Brady, a former IRA member who joined the SS-Freiwilligen Legion Niederlande, a Dutch SS unit. Another Irishman, Frank Stringer, is believed to have served in the 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking, a multinational Waffen-SS unit.

Most Irish people who sympathized with Germany were involved in espionage or propaganda rather than combat. The IRA had connections with Nazi Germany through Operation Dove, but this was mainly about seeking German assistance for Irish independence rather than direct military involvement.

Ireland officially remained neutral during the war, and most Irishmen who fought did so with the British Army rather than the Axis.

They could even do some option I dont know call me crazy but … Unlock the ability to choose and command specialized squads made up of soldiers from smaller, lesser-known nations that fought alongside major powers in World War II. These squads offer unique gameplay experiences, with each nation bringing its distinct equipment, tactics, and uniforms. For example, unlock a squad of Finnish soldiers alongside Germany’s Wehrmacht, or Soviet-backed forces like the Polish resistance, or American-affiliated units such as the Free French forces. Choose your allegiance and fight with historically accurate units in epic battles, unlocking new tactical opportunities and strategies as you go.

Canada played a major role. Im not sure why they arent even considered.

Great Famine (Ireland) - Wikipedia. When America Despised the Irish: The 19th Century’s Refugee Crisis | HISTORY

Between the Treatment of the Irish by the English and the Americans it surprising the entire country didn’t join the Axis. Look at the hate the get even today. Perhaps the origin of Family guy and south park mean spirited jokes which amount to Ginger/Irish hate for some reason.

We are still at war in our own country and nobody talks about it. We dont see it on the news we see it outside. The Republic of Ireland is fine. Northern ireland however isnt. Its still “part of england” english currency armed police. Police landys armored jeeps more or less drive around every day its like a different world.

Hans Lammers, a German pilot who is said to have come to Ireland during World War II. Lammers was allegedly sent by the Nazis as a spy with the intent of assisting the Irish Republican Army (IRA non official) in their efforts to secure Irish independence from Britain.

The period during WWII was a complicated one for Ireland, with elements of the IRA seeking foreign support for their cause while the Irish government maintained its neutral stance. The situation you mentioned reflects the complicated web of allegiances, especially with regards to the IRA and their dealings with Nazi Germany.

I love Ireland its my home but we could have did alot better. We are all over this planet. Im suprised we all didnt join Axis also

Imagine most of my country doesn’t even know how to speak our native language :upside_down_face:

Most would say we have independence from britain I for one dont. Northern Ireland still owns 6 of our counties while the Republic Of Ireland owns the remaining 26.

Independence yeah right hahahaha

Maybe I should have stated this more cleary but I was talking about event squads, for which I would rather have Greeks of Mongolians or whatever.

and you consider minor spaniards who literally saved stalingrad, leningrad, moscov and liberated paris?

No not really. However, that arguments works for many nations. What about Norse? Yugoslavians? Indians? Fins? Rumanians? Hungarians? They all fought all over Europe and for event squads and stuf I consider them more interesting.

Especially wierder ones such as Mongolians who fought for the Soviets or Thai on the Japanese side. There are so many interesting options. Spanish would just be kinda meh

And just to be clear, an event spanish squad is cool! Would just rather see an event Rumanian or Hungarian squad.

Also ‘saved’ Stalingrad, Leningrad and Moscow? I think it was mostly Soviets doing that. Maybe I am mistaken and millions of Spanjards died instead of Soviets. Just not the version of history I was thought.
