As the title suggests, Perhaps if we can get much larger battles in the future, Why not have more SPAA as of now we have 2 event spaa and 2 tech tree spaa.
they are kinda in a delicated situation.
they either get used as mowing infantry and occupy a tank slots
or kinda ineffective as AA and still occupies a tank slots being a nuissance for the team that unironically has a player deployed with them.
on the other hand, they aren’t really effective either as you can barely prevent any bomb runs or players with bombers. the guns overheat rather quickly, and clips are rather small.
at least, speaking of the low tiers ones which i still like, but far from being effective or ideal.
because once again, most of the times those becomes meat grinders instead of being used in their intended role.
and… will it be really effective taking the spot of a tank to use against targets that as soon they realize there is someone on AA, they will just suicide bomb their selves ? ( even without the knowledge of AA on the field so… )
i think those should work similar to bikes.
and transform riders into light motorized infantry unit with various units such as the bike, perhaps more transport vehicles, or small offensive vehicles such as AAs, scout cars, armored cars etc.
They are just AA guns that can aim downwards with all downsides of being a tank and no positives of being a tank.
Overall, kind of useless except for larp.
SPAA is extremely fragile can get destroyed by a single HE shell if aimed from the side, and APHE/HMG instantly wipes most the crew, even AT guns of any kind will pen the thin armor and kill crewman one by one, you also need to expose yourself to deal any dmg to the planes, light tanks and infantry there are no reason to keep it in the Tank slots. They better turn it into the new slot along with bikes or merge bikes with half tracks/trucks just like you and i suggested in the past.
in general AA guns,no matter if it’s in vehicle or not they are bad, they need a buff, and let me edit for give context. old AA build by engies could take down almost any plane, new ones,depending of the faction and campaign could just destroy or do nothing, but most of times the plane will just leave with a mere scratch and you probably empty your belts for nothing
I have easier time destroying planes with HMG nest than actual AA guns. They nerfed AA to the ground so their precious p2w Paratroopers wouldn’t get shot down while sitting in their warp traveling WH40k airship.
They need to receive a huge buff and buildable AA need a larger degree of movement you can barely track planes atm if they decide to fly low near treeline.
exactly, the funny thing it’s no matter if you hit in a critical spot, I TESTED with a friend, some AA specially axis ones, do mere scratches against certain planes, we need a buff or a version v2 with more fire power but slow time to build or make the tank who are AA work properly
yea maybe if they make aa overheat slower it would help since it only 20 round why bother having overheat happen quick when aa are suppose to be “essential” in killing aircraft
I like using the Flk Pz II in Moscow it’s a pretty decent AA and good for killing infantry when no planes are present
AA was commonly used against infantry. Whenever I play as SPAA I alternate between fighting infantry or shooting at planes depending on the current situation
I think all that matters is whoever is using the vehicle slot is supporting the team no matter what he does
