The squad is twice as big but they wont have parachutes. They will land on the soft snow instead and they will jump from the wing of the plane. The box will break on impact after hitting the ground making it possible for anyone to scavenge the equipment.

is the unique mechanic jumping out of planes without parachutes 
(mostly a joke because I remember seeing somewhere they would do this at very low altitude into deep snow. I could be wrong though will free to fact check me)
