Maybe as a different option or is an upgrade to the machine gun nest.

Except… Engi II MG34 already comes installed on the tripod? This MG at best can serve as a replacement for MG34
Personally i’ve always wanted them to give us different machinegun options. The Engineering squad should be able to build machineguns as soon as you unlock them, same as you can for the machinegunner squad, but instead of just always getting the same machineguns, they should be something you can equip to your squads the same as every other gun. How cool would it be if i could swap my M1919 browning for the 1917, the british Vickers or maybe even whatever gold order machineguns they come up with. In moscow they just replaced the german AT guns with a heavier one that’s amazing against all soviet tanks but it might be better for AT guns to just be something you can unlock over time. As soviets i’d much rather be using the same ZiS-3 i was using in company of heroes. If they add the assorted light machineguns as guns that can be used as machinegun options, the choices will drastically expand (and some of the ones we carry around were designed to be used that way in the first place so it’d fit more)
That is true but it doesn’t have the sandbags and you can get better angles and higher elevation for better shooting.

If we’re bringing in antiques i can just imagine what kind of machineguns we’d see for “Gold Order”. You get that one, super wacky guy who for some reason has a civil war gatling gun or “Potato Digger”

So you just mean AA mount for MG?
I guess so but it’s mostly for high elevation and better angles and shooting down planes too would be just a bonus.
And everything else going on here I just found that stuff.
To be honest it might be an interesting alternative choice to have eventually. We’d have to decide whether it’s more important to have greater protection from the sandbags when using the gun via bipod, or if we want better control over our gun by being able to aim at lower elevations but having less protection.
This would be especially useful in some cases because currently, there are alot of great windows and vantage points where machineguns would be incredibly useful, but because you can’t lower the aim of your gun enough you can’t actually shoot at anyone approaching/passing that particular position, making it worthless.
Unpopular opinion: germans don’t even deserve a high caliber MG as they didn’t use one at comparable scale to the allies.
So it’s fine that their fantasy-mg sucks just a tiny bit.
the AS-44 is in game so anything can go now and this is for upgrading the machine gun nest to a tripod instead of sitting on sandbags.
Give me M2 .50 cal AA Mount !!!
But yeah enhanced mount for standard MG nest could be an option, there is no point in using them when you can just use HMG instead.
HMG nest should not be the only one who gets tripods So regular machine gun nests deserve tripods as well so let everyone have tripods.
This guy really knows how to whine about nonexistent problems.
The current ones on tripods absolutely suck as they can’t angle down. So let’s NOT make the issue worse.
Devs just need to give the one we already have proper angles… I’ll keep the bonus sandbags in front.
I think this is an anti-aircraft setup.
What I want is a low visibility crawl on the ground like this.
It would be nice if the machine gun squads had a choice of several setup positions when they set up their HMGs.
