Somewhat frustrating

Why did you redact the names of all the other players?
For all we know they were all bots.
And I’m always suspicious of screenshots that are cropped and hide possibly pertinent info.

I do not want to post pictures of other peoples game results. I removed the information so that it can not be used in any form to disparage the other players in the match. I do not see how the other usernames of players or potential bots will add anything to this post. There were some good players on the other team. The purpose of the post was to highlight possible balance or population issues for the Axis side in the Tunisia campaign. I appreciate the skepticism, but it was just a somewhat frustrating match.

bots can typically break a 1:1 KD

It was so heavily edited and cropped that, unless I’m missing something, I can’t tell if your team won or lost. So, nobody knows if you should be frustrated. For all we know you earned 9000 base xp, used a +100% booster, have premium time, and earned multipliers for a victory and multiple battle hero bonuses.

The only information removed was the usernames and Victory/Defeat. It was a defeat on first point on the farm map in destruction mode.

I believe that frustration is a subjective matter. But getting slightly over 40% of kills I also think that many people would agree that is frustrating.

and your base xp ….could have been, we don’t know from screenshot.
7500 base xp + 7500 xp booster + premium bonus and the x 1.5 for victory and x 1.5 for 1st on team and best infantry and best engineer and best vehicle squad = 50,625 Campaign XP earned, which wouldn’t be too bad

Base xp is in the picture it is 5567. I do not see how any multipliers would be pertinent to this topic. Perhaps I am wrong and perhaps I was not clear as to what I was frustrated about. I was not frustrated about multipliers or xp. I got first on my team and that comes with a nice xp boost. It was just a frustrating match where my team did not perform as well as the enemy team. I think that balance and population may have had something to do with it. Obviously I could have just been matched with a team that just happened to not do well that match.

Now that I think about it. I think that we have different definitions of “base xp”. I believe that you are referring to the amount given at the top of the screen that is then modified, while I am referring to amount shown on the scoreboard. Please correct me if I am wrong. I think that planes and tanks get bit less for kills.

Dude…5567 was your score on the leaderboard….base XP is not related to that in any way.
I’m beginning to think that a significant percentage of the active members of this forum don’t understand the difference between the leaderboard score and what really matters…which is BASE XP earned.

Could you explain the difference as to how they are calculated?

…processing…

…processing…

:exploding_head:

Could it be that bots are ACTUALLY coded with some kind of “adaptive skill”, so they become increasingly or decreasingly effective during a match depending on other players’ performances?

Like, the more a player gets wiped out with little to no kills, the more his bots will try to compensate by getting smarter, and vice versa?

DISCLAIMER - this is pure speculation with no supportive evidence whatsoever.

Sure….the “Score” on the leaderboard, which it seems the majority here are focused on, only determines which player receives the “First place in the team” battle hero award.
BASE XP is the “Root” value that the games’s formula uses to calculate your campaign XP earned for the match. Leaderboard score in NOT directly tied to BASE XP earned….leaderboard score is for bragging rights only.
Every time you complete a match, you might want to get in the habit of reviewing the “Battle Report” which is found by scrolling up above the leaderboard.
The “experience base” for each squad and each squad member can be reviewed there. As well as number of activities that add to “experience base” . the experience base earned for kills defending or attacking as well as pretty much everything else such as fortifications used by your team are increased
if performed at the objective.
Then the formula to calculate your campaign xp is displayed as
xxxx (base XP) plus xp boosters that might be applied for that match plus +100% base xp if a premium account plus +100% for the base xp earned by premium squads TIMES multipliers such as 1.5 for a victory plus multiplies for battle hero awards, such as 1st in the team (always a multiplier) and multiple battle hero awards that range from 1.2 - 1.5…
SO….if BASE XP is 5000 for a F2P account and you suffer a defeat with no battle hero bonus awards it would be….5000 total campaign XP earned.
If you are F2P but win but had no other battle hero awards…5000 x 1.5 = 7,500 campaign XP earned.
If F2P and win AND 1st on team but no other battle hero awards… 5000 x 1.5 x 1.4 = 10,500 campaign XP earned.
If F2P and win, 1st on team and multiple other battle hero awards…5000 x 1.5 x 1.5 = 11,250 campaign XP earned.

If a premium time player a loss and no battle hero awards…5000 + 5000 = 10,000 campaign XP earned
Premium plus a win but no battle hero awards…5000 + 5000 x 1.5 = 15,000 campaign XP earned.
Premium plus win plus 1st on team… 5000 + 5000 x 1.5 x 1.4 = 21,000 campaign earned.
And so on…if you are lucky enough and roll a +300% xp booster with daily rewards, have premium account, use only premium squads (a tank camping in the grey zone until you run out of ammo) win, get 1st on team and multiple other battle hero awards…
5,000 + 15,000 + 20,000 + 20,000 x 1.5 x 1.5 = 135,000 campaign XP earned. and so on.
I did this off the top of my head, but I believe my simple addition is correct.

Bots typically will attack an objective whereas really bad players will typically just camp a building and not leave. So bots will get decent kills but with a high amount of deaths IE 15-13 where bad players will have low kills and low deaths since they are hiding and away from the action so they are harder to squad wipe them IE 8-4 or 5-4

Sad but true

I really do appreciate the time you took to reply to my question. I will look at this in more depth and report back. I played a match while you were replying to me and got stomped by the Soviets in Berlin.

Looking at this result I think that the xp unlocks for squads and the xp unlock for individual soldier tiers effects base xp. So using lower tier soldiers with all xp boosts unlocked will give greater xp for the squad. I will do more testing. But not tonight. Btw you got a sick avatar  .

No worries. If you take a minute after each match……ignore the leaderboard score…and digest each squads and each member of each squads “experience base” and how it’s calculated (the total xp earned by the squad is petty much evenly divided among squad members)…you should be able to modify squad members and play style to gain max “BASE XP”….ignore the leaderboard, it is there to attract players attention and distract from what really helps to progress the quickest.

Thanks for proving me wrong. Now I can be more correct as to how I understand the game. That is why I appreciated you skepticism. There is often something to learn from another person.

Too bad it isn’t explained more clearly in the game.
But I guess it’s in the Devs benefit to have player chase top position on the leaderboard

Those upgrades dont affect campaing exp. Only for squads/soldiers

I tested it earlier and 1lvl squad with sniper that dindt have any personal upgrades got same xp as high level squad
