i have an idea regarding the alleviation of workload off of the devs, how about instead of devs doing all the work, allow players to submit their own animations/textures, mechanics and even sounds, and rather allow players to submit their own stuff, and consider adding such submissions as a final addition for the game.
imagine how awesome would it be if some animator animates their own weapon reload animations, special game functions/mechanics, make their own sounds or even model their own weapon models/assets for the game and then submit it to devs for that to be implemented in the game?
i think that it could work way better rather than put all the workload on top of the shoulders of the devs that are already overloaded with work
there is plenty of people out there that are very inspired to make this game better, and i would love to see user submitted stuff
tldr: give players the ability to mod in their own assets and create stuff for devs to implement in the game

Serious question, why would anyone want to work without getting paid or hired?

You do realize a huge part of PC gaming is modding and playing mods? Something that people do without getting paid or hired

I understand modding is a hobby, op suggested outsourcing work to the community to alleviate the dev’s workload. I’m not here to gatekeep how you spend your free time, I just don’t understand this suggestion.

mods my g
theres countless added already
well yeah, outsource some small stuff, like reload animations, something that isnt a big deal.
as of now the only thing that a player can do is make their own maps, i would really like to see players being able to do more, like make or import stuff from other games. how nice would it be if a player could import their own weapons (for example a muzzle loader, AR-15 etc…) or even import sounds, because im sure that someone out there could make better weapon sounds, reload sounds and so on.
Regarding alleviating workload off of the devs, one of their dev work for 12 years in total at Gaijin and Dark Flow, they’re not some noob you find on Fiverr. They get paid to do their job, it’s not like they volunteered.
Modding out of passion is one thing, but if a person spend hours UV unwrapping, texture painting and their work make it into the game as assets for the latest release; I believe that person deserve payment. That’s just my opinion.
yeah but what i see here is that DF devs are all alone on enlisted development and that they hardly get any help from gaijin devs, this could explain why they give us sub-par content, then they slowly update it to make it somewhat good. this is why i had the idea to get the help from people who would do it out of passion
