Some TNT suggestions (issues?)

For a very long time ago I made a report about TNT:s.

Since it was never taken care of I suspect some of my concerns were not bugs, but features.

First of all: I know it’s a current bug where the player is holding the remote control instead of the TNT block. The player must press the switch button again to obtain the TNT block (see here: Link). Here are my suggestions anyway.

  1. Completely remove the ability to switch to the plunger. The plunger should only become visible if you have dropped your TNT.

This will not only prevent bugs like the current one, but also avoid mistakes, because you accidentally double press ‘6’ (pretty common when there’s server lag)

  1. Give us the ability to detonate our/teammates dropped TNT:s by shooting/blowing it up.

You were before the High Caliber update able to shoot a dropped TNT. Now you can’t for some reason. I suggest you to make this a feature again.

I thought this exactly is the thing already.
Yesterday I even killed enemy by his dropped TNT. But in kill feed, my tank MGs was shown. So I am not 100% sure. But it looks like it. And I definitely blow his TNT with my MG.

Btw. But I am quite sure you can detonate TNT by shooting it. I destroyed enemy tank in such manner back then.

See, my video. This was a feature long time ago. But not anymore … Can’t shoot or detonate it. Not in practice. Not in battle.

I just tried to use TNT in practice mode… But somehow i do have only detonator without any tnt block.

This doesn’t work for me.

So I can’t even try if shooting it work for me rn xD

Press ‘6’ again or the button you use to bring forward the TNT or Mines. If you press it repeatedly you will be able to switch between the plunger and the block. That’s what I suggest them to remove.

And you’re right, shooting is not working for me rn.
But I am quite sure it was working normally ± month back.

And as I mentioned, yesterday it looked like I blown up enemy TNT. Definitely someone has to. Since I killed the guy who thrown it. Then two other guys get close and I killed them. It definitely exploded and I was shooting only tank’s MG.

Btw. It seems like you can still blow TNT block with any other explosive, for example EP and so on.

Yeah, it’s a bug since the last update, that you draw that stupid plunger first.
But however, it’s always been like this:

if you accidentally double press ‘6’ (or preferable key-binding) you will find the plunger in the hands of your soldier which makes no sense since you haven’t dropped the charge yet. If there server lag and you quickly tap ‘6’ sometimes you end up holding the plunger instead of the not placed TNT.

Very annoying.

That’s why I suggest them to remove the ability to bring forward the plunger if the block is not dropped.

Its definitely worked for me in the past, with AP and AT mines. Maybe it doesn’t work for TNT though, I don’t carry much TNT so have never ran into the situation of not being able to select my TNT.

Though earlier today when I played a match and selected my TNT, it gave me the detonator and not the TNT block, which has never happened to me before, so I’m thinking that TNT has a separate bug from the bug that mines have. (Or maybe its the same bug but just effects TNT differently)

TLDR : this game has lots of bugs.

Yeah, two different bugs.

Mines - sometimes never show until action (as you know)

TNT - now the soldier pulls the plunger instead of the TNT block, so now you have to manually switch back to the block (new bug)

I still think the better solution for both of these is to allow us to PLACE the plunger down somewhere. That way, the player can detonate it with any character as long as they are close enough to press that button.

It also works to set up more effective traps this way.

Shooting TNT block is definitely not a thing anymore because I tried at least 10 times in actual battles and it never worked.
Even though a loading screen tip suggests that you can blow up TNT by shooting it.

Agree, this is a really horrible bug. I’ve spent a lot of weaponry orders equipping every squad members with TNT because of how effective it is against tanks who charge into areas you control. But it’s a high risk manouver to run at a tank to attach TNT, when you pull out the plunger instead of the charge itself it just makes these attacks less reliable, it’s also very frustrating, mostly because it’s very inconsistent. Sometimes you get the TNT itself, other times you get the detonator.

There’s also a lot of animation problems if you drop the TNT because you’re not close enough to the tank and need to pick it up, you end up holding both the plunger and TNT at the same time, so it’s not even obvious at that point which you really have equipped.

I guess it is a friendly-fire prevention thing.
Which means, in squads (without hardcore mode), the TNT won’t blow up when shot by friendlies.
In Lone warriors (in both modes) it does.
At least, this would be my guess.
