I just don’t understand how we get such bad map design that leads to a very one sided map 90% of the time, It places you in massive open fields on one side and great cover on the other . every damn match.
I’d understand if it was a small dev team but your not and this is not acceptable even for a free to play game, it makes you guys look like a dog shit dev team im just gonan come out and say it
Battles took place everywere, swamp is located outside a main city, has a anti-aircraft fort and a rail mounted cannon. To me this seems like one of the first places that would be captured during d-day, so this is a totally plausible place.
Map design is somewhat good but teams that are poor and refuse utilize what maps have offer instead rush shortest line to capture points and it looks more like turkeyshoot when your team does not even bother mark enemies nor destroy enemy tanks just rush on capture points and die!
Much of the fighting during the early morning of D-Day (before the beach invasion) was between US Paratroopers attempting to get out of the swamps they landed in and the German rear guard.
My issue with it is that its a swamp but vehicles don’t get bogged down in it. They just drive right through the center with no penalty. And personally I think the swamp is a great map for sniping. It was very refreshing for me when the Normandy campaign came out and snipers actually had a purpose unlike in moscow
the maps are pretty okay, the problem is the use of such maps
Usa for example doesn’t have any decent automatic gun till lte game and is forced into close quarters since minute one.
Anyways i think is pretty hard to balance maps with the complexity of guns every faction have
I mean, it’s not perfect, but not bad either.
I had a good time playing as Germany in Normandy and I don’t think any problems I had encountered is a problem with the map.
I personally love the level design with playing SQUADS. It’s very interesting, not typical, and engineers with their rally points make every game pretty unique. I’ve only been playing a week though and its clear everyone at these levels are all new adapting to the gameplay.
I wonder how it will be as more and more understand the meta and learn the game. This new type of gameplay with SQUADS is fascinating to me and seems to be a pretty substantial leap in FPS gameplay.
I’m loving the engineer, have at least one in every squad, and is typically my initial focus. Dropping a rally point in a strategic spot, cover on open ground, and defensive positions is pretty epic and has a substantial impact in how the map plays out.
Seriously though this map is absolutely terrible. I don’t leave matches on any game that I play, but I bail on this map every single time. It’s like playing a Civil War Simulator. Might as well have all the players line up in an empty field and shoot volleys of bullets at each other.
