Imo this doesn’t really feel like a rocket artillery. More like a regular artillery with a rocket “skin”.
Suggestion: make rocket artillery a shock artillery to kill enemies and conventional artillery to block areas. Example:
Rocket artillery: lasts shorter, no warning shots, a lot of explosions, not a lot of shrapnel.
Conventional artillery: lasts longer, warning shots, a lot of shrapnel.
This way both types of bombardment have their purpose. (Based on real life behaviour of rocket artillery in this period.)

The error of this thing is even more exaggerated than that of a bomber.
There problem in marks I guess, they are placed in different place on map.
Yeah, I’m very disappointed by that. The sound effects are rubbish and there is not even a blast wave emenating from the point of detonation.
Its something that seems to have been coded in during the marketing meeting as a “here’s what we could do” and some senior pawn said hey, here’s my bonus for the qtr - implement !

Artillery at least has fine sound. This just sounds like my air pump for my bicycle.
It looks like the rocket gunner somehow decided to fire off a few slow rounds before launching a salvo.
Although the place he aimed at never changed or made any corrections.

Disappointing is an understatement. For the price tag that mechanic is “dogshiiite”. Reminds me the halffast work of the APC. So cheap…
well idk what you expected. it was more or less said it is upgraded arty. you get 5 “warning” shots (but actually 5 regular arty rockets)+19 shots with 0.4 seconds between shots vs 1 “warning” (nerfed 76mm shell) +18 (or 19) regular arty shots that are 0.3 seconds apart. with difference being that rocket arty can kill tanks.
btw seems like rocket arty also has superbuffed blast wave (1m-10m), but has no fragmentation. idk how i feel about this.
They said it indeed and for the money they are asking i wouldn’t think its unreasonable to ask for better quality or finished product. I can help the game development with financial support however its feels the support is not valued or appreciated.

You can actually see the blast wave, if you watch that animation, for a bit, i thought it was pretty cool, that it is noticeable

Those are quite small blasts, something like 105mm arty, I was hoping for something in the 122mm BM-21 range or at least 158mm rockets for the Nebelwerfer we have in game, although that one is “controlled” as well. Compare the effects from that one vs the new KV-2 test video doing the rounds. The 152mm shot is creating bomb sized crates and scattering troops like Sauron waving his mace around. There is just significant inconsistency in the effect of these weapon systems, which is why its disappointing.
From the outset there was an argument to set weapon damage by caliber and size of cartridge, with perhaps the usual matrix of drop off tables. You can sort of see that from the tables ppl are mining from the game. However, the recent trend appears to be to re-buff/nerf and ultimately re-balance weapons / BR for the sake of reinforcing the BR system.
are you talking about visual effect or about actual blast radius? cause if you are talking about blast radius it has biggest radius out of all guns/rockets in the game.
sound and visuals @robihr. I’m fine with whatever they implement for damage, you and other ppl are already ppl looking into damage from what I can read. I just wanted the immersion of dropping some psychological trauma on my opponent - I’m not asking for a TOS-1 Solntsepek, but I’d like rocket artillery to be easily distinguishable from regular arty.
