besides the fact that the 45mm frontal armor is unrealistically strong, and that the Panther struggles to pen at certain spots, even tho the panzer IV wouldn’t even have problems to pen these spots in real life… besides all that, the worst of all - IF you pen the tank, it mostly only kills one sometimes two of the crew.
The thing that makes Moscow tank battles fun, is that tanks die fast, all of the lategame tanks are powerful, cuz they blow each other up in one or two hits.
Which makes sense, since in the real world, if a tank gets penned, even by just armor piercing ammo without an explosive filler, the shrapnel from the penetration itself was enough to kill most of any crew.
Berlin tanks are waaay too survivable, besides the Panzer IV ofc, that one blows up in one shot ( as it should be).
It’s called slope, get your arms then get the other on I it on a 90 degree angle like a cross and see the area they overlap then turn the on on a angle a see how the area they overlap increases
okay jackass, tell me, is the effective armor of the T 34 strong enough to withstand a panzer IV? no, because slope doesnt turn tanks into terminators.
The panzer IV J had a strong enough gun to knock a t34 out in one shot no problem, yet ppl act like pumping up the turret will give the tank more survivability, the new 85 turret was still not strong enough to stop regular axis AT weapons which was the pak 40 and its tank versions.
Nope, physics is physics. Even if a T-34-85 is angled, say, at 45 degrees, this will only time the 65.64 mm by the factor of sqrt(2), which is 90 mm. Technically, yes, T-34-85 should be penetrated at all times.
The only possible scenario this 63.5 mm armor will get thicker is that the german tank is shooting from a lower place, while in Berling maps, the terrain is mostly flat, you can’t deny a fact.
Yup… what keep me away from Berlin is the tank combat… I’m more scared having my panther against T-34 than having my t-34 against the panther dude. And the more I play it, the more it feels broken. At the beginning I could easily kill 10 T-34 in a single game, and now it feels like I can’t do anything to them anymore. So the bounce shit is very problematic, but if you look at it, don’t forget the turret bug which increase the unfair shit of the T-34 by a lot… and I think that turret bug is actually more important to solve than the T-34 itself, since you’re aiming at what you see, thinking you will pen, but the enemy turret is not facing the way you see it, which is probably why it is so broken to pen, so you don’t even know what you aim at…
So Russians are able to push easily because of their tanks, since german tanks can’t even live enough to even TRY. That might be one of the reasons russians win easily. T-34 is so noob friendly that the whole russian team can push with tanks. In Moscou for exemple, tanks require a lot more skills to survive and push, except for the T-60 if not facing PzIV or PZIII E. In Moscou, you can tell if the guy driving it is a noob or not, they will keep pushing and dying in a few seconds. But in Berlin, russian noob tankers will keep pushing and killing since most of the tank opposition is the PzIV, which can be one shot, so no skill involved. And russian infantry is pushing so hard that most T-34 can’t be flanked by infantry either, so the only way is tank, but german tanks are joke with all these problems.
To get back to the topic, what I am saying is that the T34 85 should be a one - two shot kill.
yet the PzIVj struggles to pen the frontal armor which makes zero sense.
And even worse the T34 will bounce shots from the Panther tank from time to time, which is straight up insane. Even with the turret bug being a thing, a center mass shot from a panther should blow that bad boy up in 90% of the time.
