It has a lot to do with price expectation and the competitive market.
American’s expect certain products to be within certain price ranges in comparison to similar products. Even if the quality of the compared items are wildly different. Or if the cost of production has risen with time.
For example, the expected price for a newly released, high profile game is $60, and it has been that way for years. Despite games becoming increasingly more costly to develop and produce, any higher than a $60 price tag is viewed with disdain. (unless they label it a “special edition” which works on some people. Game developers also get around the price tag with “day one DLC” which is widely hated.)
Unfortunately, the reverse is also true. Even if production becomes cheaper, American’s will still pay the same expected amount for it, or more so as inflation rises. Just as long as they are never given cheaper alternatives. Something that is often prevented by inner market dealings. “Hey, I won’t sell lower than this if you don’t, deal?” ((Lately Amazon has been cheating this by selling at prices below the profit line. Intentionally taking momentary financial losses to undersell product competitors who don’t have as big of pockets, then raising the prices again once the competition is starved out.))
As for Enlisted’s prices, Gajin’s prices are far outside of our expected price range as it is. Any further than this and they will not only never get sales but would get openly criticized in games media and avoided. If they aren’t already.
This was my brief, vastly oversimplified, explanation of American Capitalism.
Completely wrong. You forget about tax. While Gaijin store price is after taxed.
For most electronics, China tend to get not only cheaper price, but special SKUs.
If you actually knows consumer electronics, you will find 13490F/13790F, GTX1060 5GB, ARC A380 which is only or initial launch in China. Most companies want to enter China’s market, as long as gov allows (too uncertain politics).
If you actually care, you will heard tons of news for it.
Same with India. Even though it has lower income, but the vast market making companies care about it, and set different price to attract more buyers.
Let alone, gaming industry also tend to set lower price for poorer area. No matter Steam, U-play, Origin…
That’s why you buy from original retailer that has online shop, my millitary/sci fi model kits and anime figs would cost 2-4x as much as if i was to order from japan or china
they got more expensive to develop because they spend so much money on marketing, if you remove that then games would be only slightly more expensive than before that’s mostly due advancements in tech for example with forward lighting you can easily create dynamic lights and shadows without years of experience on static objects with light that can’t be really be dynamic, add even more features like speedtree and photogrammetry (not just objects but actors faces) you have much streamlined production. Don’t worry about greedy AAA crying publishers they are earning way more money not just from sold copies (gaming was never as mainstream as they are now) but also for expample cod gets 4x as much money from microtransactions than from copies sold. About Gaijin and War thunder prices they are overpriced in every single region, not a single vehicle should cost more than $15.
