It’s always about compromises. Also, they could just introduce teams made of mixed factions and stuff like that, to solve this issue and help queues/MM.
I’d stop playing the game because of that, someone else wouldn’t mind and would enjoy it all the more.
I think desertion should have been punished from day one. And now we’re in a position where any hint of punishing desertion is viewed negatively by a large number of players, while those same players complain about unbalanced matches.
And then they say something about first fixing the reasons why players want to desert in the first place.
Which, from my point of view, is a complete argumentative foul. The primary reason they want to desert is that they are not being punished in any way for doing so. And they can roll the rng dice infinitel . And desert and roll until they find the easy win or the right match they seek for.
The game just isn’t in a position to allow players what maps etc they want to play. It just doesn’t have the resources to do so.
So arguments. “I’m deserting as I only want to play Moscow”. And as long as I’m not allowed to play Moscow only, desertion should be unpunished.
Strikes me as a completely selfish and intolerant mindset, uttered by someone who has absolutely no respect for what the game can and cannot afford.
Yes, the game might allow you to play only Moscow.
But in that case the teams would be made up primarily of bots. Or teams would be made of mixed factions mixed. Just what we talked about at the beginning.
The said player would finally be happy, but someone else would be pissed off.
That’s why I just don’t buy that argument. The game doesn’t have the resources to make everything perfect for everyone. And with the implementation of the Merge, developers have decided which direction they want to go.
Players should respect that, or stop playing the game.
And they shouldn’t abuse the desertion issue to promote something they don’t like about the game. And then claim how until their problem is solved, desertion issue should not be addressed. Because it’s not an issue on its own, it’s just a consequence (which just isn’t true, similar statements are just pure manipulation)
Unpunished desertion is a huge issue.
