Howdy, dear en neighbours. I once again visit you on a matter of an upmost personal interest of mine to promote irelevant Italian shananigans. But now it is different.
So i just saw this video of a guy rapid firing his Carcano rifle on a range and it appears to be you actually can fire a carcano whilst aimed down a sight without punching yourself in the eye.
I see no reason why this cant be added to our game as well. And it will be a great addition in the future if someday Italy would finally be separated from Germany. May i have this pretty please with a cherry on top?

Interesting, but I doubt that any of his shots land on target after the first one.
NGL it kind of looks like his head is kind of moving but I honestly can’t tell due to how fast things are going, like I can’t tell if he’s actually moving his head out of the way of the bolt or if it’s just bouncing around due to the recoil.
Just the poor perk tree choices or a skill issue
The most important thing in this technique is the bolt length, cause if it’s not going far enough it is not gonna hit you in the face. Therefore head movements of that guy is kind of irrelevant. We can clearly see that the action doesn’t really take that much space, so I think it is pretty much possible to pull of. Also there might be a thing with the positioning of the shooters head (aka camera) in the game, but it may be fixable with the camera adjustment like it was done with the Soviet Winchester where devs just moved a camera a few inches back and called it a day.
Well the issue is that it does look like the bolt might be going far enough back and thus he had to move his head but due to the pace of the video I can’t tell for sure.
i was shown a squad of which i then had to go and assemble for myself
It consists mainly of 3 snipers with the Sniper Carcano Mod .38 running these with the right perks you can pretty much use them as bolty assaulters, dont sit back and snipe, run in with them, their gun is small enough not to block the screen.
I wouldnt use them in a competitive nature but definitely something fun for BR 1

Sadly most of this guys face is not on screen, but slowed down to look and it seems the bolt does go all the way back to his cheek, and he is moving his head as well possibly to be out of the way of the bolt. At best the video is inconclusive, which still doesn’t help much either for the case…
Yeah, he can’t actually keep his head still while firing. I’d say you can’t ADS for a complete bolt cycle.
What it does prove is the 45 and 48 rpm figures are far too low. I once before made a post about how bolt actions are actually slower in game then they are in real life (except a select few).

Im gonna shortly try to address all of this because I’ve continued researching since I’ve made the post. So yeah the guy moves his face back, but he is in the seated and almost braced position so at this position anatomy kicks in and your head leans forward. Or maybe it’s some sort of a reflex. Appears that guy shoots a lot. I haven’t found an actual dimensions for the Carcano bolt system, but I can say for sure that bolt goes back somewhat around 7-9 cm. If you look at the illustration I provide bellow you can see that the hand grip on Carcano is rather distinguished from the stock, in the sence that you can actually see where the grip ends and the stock beggins. So that gave me a little space to speculate. You see, human hand is statistically speaking around 7-9 cm wide and so I assume that’s about it for the grip length. From what I can see the bolt goes right to the end of the grip and all of the stock real estate is free for the shooters head to occupy. Again I don’t yet have any dimensions of the stock because I’m away from my PC and doing it with a phone is just hard for me at the moment, but I am sure from what I’ve gathered that it is more then possible to remain sighted
P.S. please pardon any mistakes in my English, I came here from RU forum after all.
P.S. (2) If this theory will be proven to be correct the Japanese problem will be resolved also. They got a Type I rifle which is basically a Carcano-arisaka kind of a deal. But I’m no Japanese expert and the action there looks a bit sketchy, so yep.

Well it is faster if you use a Enfield technique, where you pull the trigger with a middle finger. I don’t think that it will be a case with the Carcano just because they weren’t trained that way and the whole concept seems to be of a British nature.

Even just using your index finger you can get faster bolt speeds in game. Another reason why I wished I owned half the guns in real life to prove or disprove my point.
