Sniper rifles tweak

So i unlocked all sniper rifles on Normandy some time ago and i got to play with the scoped FG42.
Here are my thoughts on the matter:

Scoped Kar98:

  • high damage (especially after the buff)
  • high scope magnification
  • low rate of fire (as a bolt action should)
  • high accuracy
    Conclusion: nothing to change, perfect as it is

Scoped G43:

  • medium damage
  • low scope magnification
  • medium rate of fire
  • medium- high accuracy
    Conclusion: I would increase magnification and move it up to Sniper 3 squad

Scoped FG42:

  • medium damage
  • high scope magnification
  • high fire rate
  • low accuracy
    Conclusion: I would give it a low magnification and move it down to Sniper 2 squad.

As they are right now, the scoped FG42 is a mess, it’s way too innacurate for the high magnification it has and the full auto feature is more of a gimmick used for spray and pray at close range. It would make more sense for it to have a lower magnification and be used as an “assault scoped rifle” than it does right now.
For the scoped G43, a good rifle but a higher scope magnification would be better. It should be used for a more dynamic sniper gameplay when you want to close the distance yet still be able to shoot somewhat far. Having it as a level 3 sniper rifle would mean that you have acquired the skills to shoot far from the Kar98, and to fight close up from the FG42. It would be a weapon to bridge the gap between the other 2 rifles and quite effective in skilled hands.

This is the only campaign where i unlocked all sniper rifles so this might apply only to this one or to all campaigns… dunno yet

Boltie scoped are for sniping, semi scoped are for support,fg42/stg44 scoped are a mistake

I seriously regret buying the FG42 as it is right now. I have 2 of them as DMRs in my assault squad and MG squad and i think i’ll go back to my G43 for that role

Currently Fg42 is good in semi-auto the new recoil worsened the full auto mod on both fg42, anyway im happy with this change before was an m4

the accuracy is shit for the range implied by the scope magnification, With a lower zoom it would be decent

Dispersion is a mistake but wen need live with him

Lol… My airsoft sniper shoots better groups than the FG42

I tested scoped FG42 II on the practice range and I’d say it’s a quite good LMG. One could even make an argument it’s one of the best LMGs in the game.

I truly don’t understand why they put scopes on automatic rifles, makes no sense.

Fire FG42 II Sniper in 2/3 shot bursts or single shot. With scope it’s pretty bad with full auto spray. G43 still better as a Sniper.

You can always remove the scope from FG42 II and use it as normal rifle.

FG42/STG Optionally Scoped are assault rifles limited to snipers for “balanced”

can’t you remove the scope from the fg 42 sniper like you can with the kar?

if you can, it might be very useful as a close/medium range combat weapon for the snipers (as a secondary)
