This is something I’ve been thinking of since I begun to play this game.
Unlike grenade pouches and backpacks, I find the difference between small and large ammo pouches to big. Sure, for me it’s not a problem today but I remember those days when I haven’t unlocked the large pouches yet.
I would suggest to increase the numbers of magazines in the small ammo pouches. It will make the game more friendly to new players and make the small ammo pouches worth to equip with every weapon and not just a few.
For example MP 40.
Today a small ammo pouch gives you one additional magazine.
And a large ammo pouch gives you five additional magazines.
In this case I think it would be more reasonable to give the player 2 additional magazines.
Of course you shouldn’t be able to get 2 additional mags for let’s say PPSh, but this should be applied on most of the weapons.
What about the price?
I don’t know: Something like 1 silver or 5-10 bronze (current currency) maybe?
In my opinion, the extra ammo should be separate, something like in EFT, and the soldier should recharge the magazines from these ammo packs.
It would be more realistic considering that these are bags for extra ammo packs, not extra magazines.
I think a better solution in regards to the large and small backpacks would be to allow 2 separate “small” bags OR 1 large bag. This way you could mix and match more too, and small pouches wouldn’t be made obsolete. For example being able to take a small ammo pouch and a small backpack, OR take a large ammo pouch.
I think both of you have interesting ideas. My suggestion was just considering a simple rework of the current system. It could definitely be better in many other ways for sure.
it was just an item form of the 100% more ammo for primary perk from CBT, with the only exception was that you can put the ATR as your primary back in CBT
