""Small"" suggestion for Normandy GE tankers & Mortar Battalion Uniforms

i know it ain’t vital for developments, but will we be able to dress our soldiers with the previous uniform in the first normandy test? with a different camo since, those are from SS:

Insthead of current pijamas  ?..

as the first units were much more accurate due to having red tanker should tabs. insthead of bland gray uniforms…

and now that i’m thinking about, those uniforms not necesarelly have to be throwed out, but insthead, tweak them and add them for the 3rd mortar battalion paratroopers default uniforms looking like:

( couldn’t find colored pictures with paratrooper outfit, and since i didn’t searched for that long, i found this one from bfv which it’s one of the very few historical accurate uniform )

as pants are the same buth with different color. wouldn’t be that hard include also some jackets on the top, and paratroopers equipmentr and here we go, we would solve another issue:

considering that you guys keep making new uniforms for premiums, and the last ones were incredibly well made in terms of textures, and equipment, i’m sure you guys can figure something out.

Cheers.

Don’t forget that it would require also changing the name and emblem of that squad - that is SS camo on first picture. Without that they should go for standard black uniforms.

But you are right, those suits look awful.

yeah, i know.

i just updated the thread since another idea came on top.

Well, German tankers had gray overalls or their regular black uniform

Tank commanders atleast usually had leather jacket too"

Here is a video about uniform

i mean, yeah.

for the majority they used black uniforms. as usually they were supposed to be in the tank.

but non theless not those gray suits. at all.

which as explained, could be used for other units, and tweaked.

Those Panzertruppen are improperly dressed! :face_with_monocle:

Throughout the war, the German Fallschirmjäger forces used the so-called Luftwaffen-Splittertarnmuster camouflage pattern the most.

Also, Sumpftarnmuster and several other variants were used too.

As for the tank uniforms, I see absolutely no problem on the part of the developers in using the Waffen-SS Erbsenmuster camouflage tanker uniforms in the game, which was actually used in the Normandy campaign. However, if this is refused in the final result, it is possible to leave simple standard black panzer uniforms, which were worn by Waffen-SS tankers in the same way.

What is seen now is more in line with work uniforms used in machinery factories, or as simple work overalls.

Panzer uniforms was mostly same for all tankers minus certain collar markings =)

this didn’t aged well.
