Sleeping on Solothurn S18-100

I literally went into training grounds and tried it. I said I checked the post out so I didnt see the part where the person said it can go through the side of tanks easily like other rifles. This is false because other rifles struggle to go through the side of tanks even if youre standing near them and I had plenty of times where shooting with br1 AT rifles just did nothing.

Personally i would this thing be able to shoot while standing and give soviets the same horrorific war crimes they done to GE while using PTRS-41

But well when it comes to give content to Germany there is always the rule that it need to be handicaped somehow Even if is just a stupid thing that way sov/allies playerbases don’t complain

for me the prone requirement is a plus. it makes it unique for the germans by making it have more skills involved instead of just walking past shooting a few times and then walking away like it was nothing. if they add the prone requirement to Japans AT rifle it would be nice as well because you’ll see more people in buildings setting up ambushes or even using the magical boom sticks

Well maybe all AT rifles should be used while proning that way all of us have to do the same in order to blow enemies sounds fair

Id say you aren’t very experienced

I take footage of my tests…Plenty more where that came from.

Given the thing was classified (I believe) as a cannon by the IJA, and generally was used from static positions; I would agree.

amazing all ammo shots through the side. now try it while tanks are moving and people are shooting at you while you stand in the open. while you need to shoot the sides with the weak Russian AT rifle the S-18 will go through the front of tanks at br1-2 and only struggle vs BR3 tanks in the allies. clearly the Russians have strong armor at BR3 since the t34 has angled armor and the kv1 is a fortress.

Always something isnt it? Tell me do the practice tanks you had trouble with move???

Anyway, your “opinions” are fine, just clearly arent tested or accurate…

All the result are in the test post, including the PTRS 41 results that you clearly arent familiar with

the first part was me playing with AT rifles in real games vs people in tanks actively trying to shoot me. the second part was about the S-18 shooting BR3 allies tanks in the training grounds

I’m not convinced. From stats it looks like Type 97 rifle but one BR higher and with extra disadvantage built in. I really struggle to see greatness here.

But if you are already in BR 2 then why not just use a launcher that even retain usefullness in BR 3?
They can even kill BR1 tanks like the T70 or M5A1 without pixel hunting on the turret (only to disable the main gun) and actually damage modules in a reasonable time.

I think you forgot to add M10 to you list
but anyway no one will use marder and M10 in BRIII, ATR are pretty fucked when uptier to BRIII

Thanks i did forget M10 (im happy it finally got moved)

That was my point. I wrote it in the topic. The targets at BR 3 most susceptable to AT rifles (including the solothurn) are also the rarest tanks.

So its rather ineffective to take an AT rifle in BR 2 when uptiering is common. Better off with launchers

Nah it’s total trash in current meta. You can just use
image
and destroy anything that stands in your way including BR3 tanks (with some difficulties but it’s possible) while Solothurn struggles hard against most tanks at BR2.
It’s a complete waste of a battlepass season with such underpowered gun that should be a BR1 from the start i will use it once after i’m done with todays missions and then never touch it again.

Germany got entire year of crappy BP guns while rest of the nations had some great additions. Gaijin hates Germany that’s for sure (unless you pay $$$ for their premium packs)

Oh its just not worth it as a meta, or hell even as a decent weapon, I am getting the BP only because I love the weapon and hope it gets fair treatment at some point.

Not to mention, it being BR2 is like asking why do the Japanese use their AT launchers instead of the Type 97, Its absurd.

Clearly you didn’t hear about the Granatbüchse and the Panzerfaust.

its a AT rifle that has 50mm of penetration with 10 rounds in it while other tools at the same battle rating has only 1 in the German tech tree

And that’s only slightly better than BR1 japanese Type 97 rifle that doesn’t have additional drawbacks.

And german AT rifles are mostly useless even against BR1 tanks. I don’t see how this justifies not giving them a rifle that can actually do damage (and is limited battlepass weapon).

it is pointless to compare it to Japan because they dont fight each other in war. that is why I suggest getting the BP because it is a strong AT rifle that the germans can use.

Battle rating is universal. All weapons on the same BR, from all factions have similar performance (or at least should have).
