SITREP №1 - Operation "Transparency"

In my opinion, I don’t want a premium team to make significant changes after selling, especially if these changes still have negative weakening effects

I believe the #1 focus should be to get a proper squad system in place and people can communicate on the battlefied within your squad or other squads on your team instead of relying on 3rd party communications such as chat rooms, discord, ect. Make use of your radioman where he can be used to communicate if he dies your on your own or something of that nature would be really cool and strategic.

Back to the radioman how cool would it be to communicate with your tankers on the battlefield or finally have proper use of the mortor squads to relay where to fire and help support. There are hundreds of combinations that will work with proper communication on the battlefield. EVERY WAR ever taken place had some kind of comminication. Please devs consider this as a starting base and expand from here this can be reallly cool if implemented correctly.

I like to think about Enlisted as a multi-purpose WW2 FPS engine. (It was one earlier, but they dumbed it down.)

  • Your proposed advanced comms mode is just one of the possibilities, for certain players it would surely be nice to have. (The problem with full comms is that you have no idea whether you’re talking to a bot or to a human, even tank squads can be AI driven as far as I know. Even in games like HLL where comms is the backbone, it’s often not working.)
  • The normal Enlisted mode with minimal communications and “just mark the enemy and build rallies” works well for others.
  • The third level is the player vs. computer games which devs haven’t even started to explore, something @ErikaKalkbrenner suggested years earlier. No scripted challenges and no “clear Pokrovskoje from the enemy holding all buildings, you start off with 50 soldiers in reserve and get more with each building” game modes resulting in XP at the end.
  • Also there was a more realistic you-need-to-learn-the-enemy-uniform lone fighter game mode with 20 (supposed limit 50?) players per side and per squad voice comm/spawn on friends/friendly fire mode for a while. In this mode I was reluctant to throw grenades because of the high chance of team kills and no confirmation whether I killed anyone…

I hope they’ll eventually get some time to (re)implement other modes as well.

but that’s precisely what i kinda suggested :joy:

and at this point, anything would do.

i was more opposed as just being a tower defense type of gamemode.
like, sure, a couple would be fine, but everything around it, not so much.

anyway, i doubt it will come.

" not on roadmap ".

I did not remember that I remember, I only knew PvE. But it’s a game I surely wish to play through a few times, with increasingly challenging buildings perhaps and beating my and others’ loss counts.

Amazing my post get flagged and hidden for feedback IMO in a thread entitled transparency…
yeah that is…
don’t flag it, don’t ignore, read and take it in and give it a thought and that’s it, won’t hurt you. just hear me out and move on. not some evil dude who wants to bring you down. i care for Enlsited and liek it and hope it will do good and improve and do better.
Someone who spent that much time nad money and is good at the game is maybe worth atleast hearing out… little bit maybe?

have a nice day

But then most players won’t be able to do it? It’s not like having a million callsign orders matters you didn’t lose or gain anything.

Additional questions regarding the Q&A live stream on the evening of May 30th:
① Will there be a complete video of the live stream replay posted on Twitch, just like the one on Wednesday?
② Can subtitles be released during the live stream or in the replay video?
③ Will you compile all the content after the live stream, write and publish a detailed report with pictures?

Yes I never notice that, needs to be logged as bug on CBR really

Here’s a long post answering your questions:

Should be, yes. It will be there for at least 1 week.

That will be challenging, and therefore unlikely. Twitch doesn’t come with its own feature to make this easier unfortunately. Though, anyone can chime in with a translator, and the VOD will be saved for at least 1 week for you to check anything. I do understand that this doesn’t make it easy for RU side and others who don’t know English too well, though, but it is a new initiative and who knows what we can turn it into over time?

It’s not something I thought of. The new stream is something I anticipate will change over time based on what players find most interesting and useful, and there is quite a lot of free reign to decide it.

What I can say is that there won’t be any “new revolutionary information” super far beyond what was in the SITREP news. The initial idea I had was to post the SITREP on a Friday (each time we release a version of it) and then use the Friday stream to talk about it with players, answer questions around it, work with players to collect feedback live on stream, etc, so it would be based on the dev blog itself.

The nationality system being developed will allow you to change all relevant “nationality” characteristics in one purchase, turning an American soldier into a British soldier, for example. It does not include customization/uniform changes for now, as has been said already. Customization itself will see some changes over the next period of time generally (there’s one point on the roadmap in fact), and the feedback regarding players wanting the ability to access British/Italian squads (mostly for uniform customization purposes) has been pushed again. Though, I would not expect changes on this front right now - developers are busy completing many things on the roadmap for the coming updates. It may be something afterwards.

Still planned. Of course, Japan doesn’t actually have an assault rifle yet, and the Americans only got one recently - this was the big roadblock. I’d say it’ll be much more likely after Japan gets its own assault rifle of sorts.

Not ignoring, and not refusing. We’ve informed developers of the wish players have for adding more statistics to player profiles a number of times. When they have more time, it may be focused on. It’s also worth mentioning that perhaps not every statistic (it really depends on what statistics in particular you mean here) may be easily measurable with the existing systems in place, and may require a big rework for them to be measured (which takes developer time, currently being used for items on the roadmap), or they may start from 0 if added. Again, it really depends on the stat though, complex things may have this issue more than simple things, yet they all take time.

It’s worth reminding that developers can’t say much different to what we can; in fact, in most cases, there’d be no difference at all in what could be said. There are also language barriers and other issues. Also do remember that there are NDAs - we can’t reveal everything about the future of the game yet. Those things that are in the news are what we can say in more detail.

However, it would be cool to do something related to doing another iteration of the Q&A that was done years ago. No guarantees at all of course right now, just exploring ideas, as there are challenges and it would need planning and care.

It hasn’t happened yet, but no, nothing should be considered a commitment in terms of developer work specifically. Words will be chosen carefully to avoid any misconceptions. That being said, I may commit to something myself in terms of feedback and pushing, depending on what we talk about. That doesn’t translate to developer guarantees though, since that depends on many things.

The same “group” as the game started with, minus a few due to general company hiring & leaving functions, plus a good number of new guys. The game director in the Q&A mentioned before is still the game director now, for example.

The AM team is focusing on AM, yes, this should be expected.

AM doesn’t affect Enlisted’s work, since they are separate teams. They use the same engine of course, Dagor, so the Dagor engine team works on both, but this is the same for all Gaijin games (War Thunder, CRSED, etc too) and is not something new.

Well this is quite a personal question aimed at me so I left it for last after all the other more important stuff. As far as my personal streaming goes, I’m only doing 1 per week (Sunday) so this doesn’t affect anything. Videos are something I’d like to focus on again though.

AM is in its early infancy, hence, not too much time can be spent there right now anyway since there’s not a lot we are able to share yet, besides playtests. Note that the CM team is growing too (for both Enlisted and AM) in more behind-the-scenes roles which will make this even easier as the game grows.

A better question for me therefore would be “how do you split your time between Enlisted & Marketing?” The answer would be that my time is being spent more on Enlisted now - this SITREP dev blog and the new streams and assets may help to show this in part. One of my big more manual marketing tasks will also be made much quicker & simpler with an improvement very soon, so more time to spend on Enlisted.

All this is basically to say that there should be no concerns about where “my time is spent” - it’s largely irrelevant. Since my time is being spent more on Enlisted and will be even more, there should be new things I (and we) can do, and combine this with new guys coming on to help.
