Silver-tier guerrilla squad can wield assault rifles

I don’t agree with this viewpoint. If you can use assault rifles just by paying, isn’t this essentially pay-to-win?Especially for guerrilla units or similarly sized forces, this would be even more unfair.

They are guerrillas and they have their own gimmick and providing them with automatic rifles would just turn them into juiced up assaulters on steroids. And its a Gaigin game… You actually expect to be equal to someone who fed the snail lol?

I do guess the SMG / assault rifle / SF rifle - dynamic is indeed not working too well, but I can see all SMGs being moved out of BR5 since assault rifles are in my mind supposed to be supperior to SMGs.

However, I was thinking - if for example assault rifles would get an HA overhaul, as in STG44 getting the correct rate of fire of 500rpm with the other factions ARs following - then ARs could just as well move to the trooper class of weapon, while SF rifles get their damage nerfed to MG levels (never one hit down vs vitality)… well that would pretty much make BR5 SMGs viable.

That’s why not everyone should be able to use them. It is that easy.

Plus it’s not like smgs are some totally outdated concept that just got completely outclassed by AR in every possible way.
They’re used up until this very day.

The problem here is that there’s quite strong push from people who simply don’t want to deal with any negative tradeoffs. Everything needs to be best, everything needs to be same.

In a game where automatic rifles can do literally everything? LMAO. How many 9-man squads can your pathetic SMGs with single-digit damage even kill? Stop talking about ‘balance’—if ARs are already this OP, giving guerrillas assault rifles is only fair.

Quite a lot :man_shrugging: especially on guerillas. One has to be very bad if not doing well with BR5 smgs.

Lol

Here’s the issue: Your guerrilla SMGs take 2-3 shots to kill, while assault/auto rifles drop enemies in one shot. Why would anyone use a pea-shooter that needs multiple hits? If fire rate is the excuse, why not just play with an LMG instead?

It’s really funny how some people are lobbying for putting ARs to BR3 while others are claiming BR5 SMGs are basically unusable in comparison to them. And the only way how can guerillas compete is to be able to use ARs by default.

But I understand that those people really don’t care about balance much

Most BR5 SMGs have high capacity mags with ±1000 rof. Nearly the double of ARs.

Seems like you really cant even tell difference between ARs and SF rifles.

There’s only one BR5 AR that’s capable dropping enemies in one hit :man_shrugging: all other have less then 10dmg as far as I know.

Just don’t play guerillas if you think they can compete with other squads. Your bad. :kissing_closed_eyes:

It seems you really like hitting the white marker on the indicator. These submachine guns start to have all sorts of issues at engagement distances beyond 30 meters—damage, bullet velocity… Meanwhile, enemies using automatic rifles can drop you with a single shot at 50 meters.

You know why guerrillas are the least popular pick in BR5? Because they’re stuck with these stupid high-ROF, low-damage SMGs. In BR5 engagements start at 50m+ range – at that distance, your SMGs might as well be throwing pebbles."

Yeah, they’re surely least popular than bikes, mortars and medic squad.

The title is about ARs, not SF rifles. :man_shrugging: So I have no clue what are you even talking about.

It’s really fascinating how hard people are trying to push for changes with blatant lies.

Look at this video—even when firing first, the submachine gun ended up in a mutual kill with the automatic rifle. There’s nothing more to say about it.

What kind of comparison is this? Motorcycle squads only have 3 members, and medic squad don’t even get ammo pouches—both have worse mechanics than guerrillas!

At least let the guerrillas fight evenly at 50 meters with assault rifles in flanking engagements, instead of getting killed while seeing endless white hit markers.

Even assault rifles outperform SMGs at 50m+ ranges.
