Silver spending priorities?

Since everything costs Silver now from unlocking squads to buying vehicles, from upgrading your gear to de-selecting perks (wtf?), what is your financial strategy right now?

I was one of those who thought that the Devs would actually announce the Merge set in stone for day X and I was preparing to buy lots of tier IV soldiers and later sell them… but never did because they rolled the Merge when I was away.

So from what I see some people are sitting on 3-4 million Silver while others are on the other hand with 50-100k, and I’m personally with about 1.05 million, but so far I’m trying to not go under the 1 million mark just in case they roll out something insane like WW1 era (yes, take my money) and I’d need to buy everything from there (and actually buying all the crappy tanks from all the factions just to unlock the latest one will indeed cost a lot).

In any case, so far I’ve developed this priorities list:

  1. Unlocking stuff in Research
  2. Buying the missing weapons/gear for various BR presets
  3. Upgrading the vehicles*
  4. Upgrading the weapons (I don’t really care about that)
  5. Changing perks on soldiers (I really don’t care about that)

Do you have some other visions or approaches?

*Does anyone know how much tank/plane upgrades cost now? All I can see know is that e.g. Tiger 1 from 3 stars to 4 stars costs 4500 with 40% discount applied.
I have 12 vehicle upgrade orders stored so I’d like to calculate how much they can be worth.

you weren’t the only one.

kinda got lucky that i did that above time as i had enough cards.

couldn’t stack some brownings, 717s, and few others, but that’s alright.

( what wasn’t right, are the vg and pre war kar 98s swapped to g33s… but whatever )

so far, as i have unlocked everything,

my suggestions would be ( if i had to restart )

  • buy soldiers and try to fill all of your squad

  • unlock stuff that you need and want first

  • buy weapons that you find your self great with it.

  • upgrade your weapons

  • change perks ( if you want and need )

  • upgrade vehicles

similar yet different.

primarily i believe since you will be spending alot of time on foot, it’s best to be fully equipped.

vehicles are kinda a side thing.

even if you will be spending alot of time on vehicles ( unless you’re a free to player ) top priority will always be infantry. and the more numebers you have for the squad, the better you will perform and generally gain more xps.

then you have to focus on the weapons it self.

the better your weapons are, the easier will be to kill things or perform without " funny " business.

and then you want to focus on perks.

and lastly, if you have enough ( because you will need a large ammount of silvers ) spend it on vehicles.

or… use BP green cards and save you alot of silvers. since that’s the most expensive thing after br v weapons.

then, it’s quite on the individual it self.

but those would be my reccomandations.

well, the idea is to use them on vehicles that are on br v and what
or where you did not researched the lower price yet.

therefore, as suggested, spend it only on things that you haven’t researched the " favorable " price or higher br vehicles.

Idk, I feel like spending silver on weapon upgrades and soldier perks will improve them ever so slightly, and you don’t even know if you’ll be able to use that weapon or that soldier you upgraded - bolt actions one hit kill anyone equally, and one impact grenade/plane bomb can wipe out the squad just as well.

Whereas with vehicles they are more valuable and that split second or gunner’s perk can decide whether you lose your tank privileges or you can continue shelling.

In any case, Silver is in high demand right now and I feel it because before the Merge we weren’t using silver/bronze orders on stuff like changing soldier perks and especially buying out the entirety of the tanks lineup:

Imagine a player who played just a little bit before the Merge.

Now they probably have Pz IV J as started from Berlin, and in order for them to unlock the next tank that is Pz IV H, they’d have to first research and then buy out all the Italian crap, all the Pz III variants and short barrel Pz IVs as well.

That sounds like insane silver investment, especially after the Devs said “now you won’t have to unlock stuff you don’t want”.

I dont upgrade tanks or guns. It takes too much silver and i am fine with the level 1 guns. I just buy stuff that i want. Also i dont reroll perks

not at all.

the idea would be to find the optimal equipemnt for you that will allow you to make ton of silvers.

that is, around br 1 - 2 which will be extreamly cheaper for newer people too.

unless someone wants to be deary and somewhat pay dearly above and within the tier 3.

efficency of both your soldiers ( in terms of veterancy, that way, AI will slighlty perform better too ) and weaponary, does make the difference.

even if your ai can’t shoot for shite, if he does, it will kill people opposed as only downing them.

and you, on the other hand, will have to " suffer " less from reloads, hitpowers and recoil as when you upgrade weapons, they are less bad than they are at 1 star.

vehicles are very easy to destroy.

and unless you gray zone camp, you’ll die either way.

with infantry, you’ll die twice as well. but you at least will be using those for the majority of your time.

especially as a free to player.

it’s good to still use them time to time to deal temporary with some tank, or anti tank guns, but the inpact will be minimal.

well… duh.

before we had specific currency for specific purchases.

now it’s all collapsed into one.

the rate hasn’t changed drastically, but the way we used them it did.

you can’t really do that as there are 100 scenarios.

out of all, you chose the least realistic one.

because panzer IV J unless you research it from normandy, berlin alone does not grant you one.

as it goes for the italians and researching things at the begging that is true.

but at the same time, i think it’s better that way.

so that people familiarize with weapons, try new stuff and do not get bored or… clapped hard from veterans in tier IV III.

that way, makes people retrace their step.

personally, i think that’s great.

the feeling and lack of UI guidence, perhaps much less.

but… we get accustomed to that. don’t we.

that was a blatant lie.

one of many unfortunately.

Silver coins? I’ve been working on planning and preparation since the February 2023 roadmap. Thus being able to spend silver coins freely in the moment.
The only thing I received that hurt me to was the unsaleable grenade launcher (muzzleloader) ,and been cleared hundreds of 3.9 PU scopes after the December update.
As well as the thousands of bayonets, hundreds of other scopes, and hundreds of various launcher muzzles that were cleared yesterday.
What to do with all those silver coins now, of course, is to start preparing for the next apocalypse.

I spend on everything, focusing mostly on squads and the soldiers in them. I heavily min-max soldier stats so I spend a LOT on soldier enlistment but otherwise I am doing okay, sitting at 600k after spending prob like 500k the last couple weeks.

I probably have 1M+ sleeping in my army reserves for different armies, from back when the Academy was still a thing. But even then, I feel like I gain enough to fill my squads with ease

I do spend on vehicle upgrades but I dont really use tanks so whatever I normally spend on them I spend on planes instead. Also I have enough vehicle upgrade cards that the last most expensive level is always free for me lol

Avoid going above BR2
Get some decent squads filled out: assuming no premium slots: engineering squad, AT squad, assault squad
Make sure everyone has a medpack
Max out engineers in every squad you get
I’d get some BR1 bolt actions for a squad or two (each nation has an amazing options that is piss cheap, way better than the starter rifle garbage and not that much worse than “best” options for BR1/BR2 while being SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper overall, stuff like USMC springfield, 7.35 Carcano, Type 1)
Get more specialised stuff like AT weapons, but do not overspend on the crappy ones, save up for the best-in-BR2 once you have some rudimentary way to deal with enemy tanks
Get some “meta” BR2 SMGs for the assaulters (before that use whatever crap youve got lying around)
Avoid spending on throwaway stuff like the small bags, they are almost universally a jebait. I’d also avoid buying most grenades, only go for dynamite packs as they are the most versatile and needed to blow up those sweet xp piniatas called tanks
I’d probably sneak some of the cheapo bolt actions upgrades in before really buying tons of explosives, once you’ve researched the -40% cost for it, it makes massive difference IMO
After that it’s kind of up to you
Personally once I have enough special weapons (like AT launchers) I’d max out all my main guns
TNTs are kinda useful too
Pistols and upgraded melee is mostly just bling
Most low tier vehicles arent very good and are expensive as heck, so buying and/or upgrading should wait after you get a good solid base
You probably would want to skip as many of the bad ones as possible (no need to research or buy the foldered ones) and get to decent ones
Large ammo pouches are a huge difference for any semi/full auto guns, but those are way down the line (i think)
I’d also avoid minmaxing one nation fully (get to a point where you have at least 3 filled squads with some upgraded bolt actions and special gear but not just 100% loaded up), playing different sides also makes you a better player and helps avoid burnout
