Siege of Budapest

Hi, I want to suggest a new campaign: Siege of Budapest with hungarian forces against the soviets. I know you already have 2 unfinished campaigns and have to work on bugs and new features in the near future. So it is maybe a little early, but I know you have to start working on a whole new campaign months earlier. You have to gather information, find out the gameplay, make new sounds, objects, animations, maps, etc. So it takes a lot of time, but if you like the idea, you can start working on it.

Why Budapest?
Budapest was an important city for both sides and there was a really big battle. The Red Army wanted to isolate Budapest from the rest of the German and Hungarian forces, so tens of thousands of soldiers and hundreds of thousands of civilians became trapped in the city. The siege lasted more than a month. At the end of the battle, the remaining civilians and soldiers attempted a breakout. Only 600–700 German and Hungarian soldiers reached the main German lines from Budapest.

Why Hungarians?
You have 4 campaigns, all of them against Germany. The game needs some diversity, other nations also fought on the side of the Germans. The Hungarians fought on the side of the Germans until the end of the war. There are only a few games with hungarian forces, so with this Enlisted can stand out even more from other games. I think it is important to introduce the lesser known nations as well.

Is Budapest the right place for a new map?
Budapest is a big capital city, with the Danube in the middle. There are a lot of possibility to make smaller combat areas and maps, for siege and street fighting as well.

I think hungarians have enough equipment (weapons, tanks, planes and other equipment as well) to a new campaign as well. They had enough rifles, smgs, anti tank rifles, grandes, tanks etc.
I really hope you consider it. Thanks for reading, have a nice day.

This could be nice, i would like to see Monte Casino in future.

And there is Danuvia SMG in files, soo maybe we will see Hungarians somewhere.

I feel like Hungary shouldn’t be a priority, i’d much rather see the Italians/Japanese/Romanians before.
Also, the Hungarians don’t really have a big roster of weapons available, they had like 9 different infantry guns (considerably less to the other countries ingame) and the rest was just given to them by other axis countries like Italy and Germany

And again, as i have said before in the other campaign suggestions, this one is also not that known for people who don’t know much about ww2, most people don’t even remember the participation of the Hungarian troops even though they were one of the main contributors to the European axis. Because of this, it wouldn’t work for advertising.

I’d like some Hungarian squads tho

The Japanese have even fewer small arms available, and only a single SMG which was domestically designed and produced!

No, thats jut not factualy true, i can think 3 smgs from memory, the type 100, type 1 and type 2. They have a LOT of different models for arisaka rifles (just like the mosin) and more Tera types, lots of handguns, a TON of machineguns ranging from light to heavy, Mortars and AT rifles. These are the ones made in Japan. If we count other weapons like checz ones or from the colonies they captured, the gun amount just goes up.

We already have smgs that weren’t at all used during the war such as the mp-18 or the ww1 mosins, i think that adding some “experimental” weapons won’t do much effect.

Type 1: 50 produced, estimated.
Type 2: 50-100 produced, estimated.

These weapons were never formally adopted, and the Type 2 was in fact outright rejected as a PDW for tank crews.

Again, we already make use of experimental weapons and we will even more when berlin comes. So seeing these won’t be too strange.

Also, i just researched a bit and there are 3 variants of the type 100 and they also made use of the mp-18 in the Bergmann 1920 version

Seeing them will be very strange, in my opinion. I don’t think this game should become Battlefield Prototypes.

there already are weapons that weren’t used in the war in the game, these atleast were manufactured to some capacity and saw a little bit of combat

in my opinion, the On the Don (Voronezh, Rostov, Kalach) from summer 1942 campaign would be interesting, where, in addition to German and Hungarian, Italian, Romanian or Slovak state units, they were deployed. I recently organized a reconstruction of the battle on this topic and the scheme of possibilities was really interesting.
