Lower sidearm cost. pistols cost as much as rifles and some six times as much.

Tier 1 = 125 silver
Tier 2 = 300 silver
Tier 3 = 750 silver
They’ve already had their prices lowered, so further lowering is highly unlikely to happen.
If you can’t afford a top-tier pistol, go for a cheaper option.

What are tiers and why do pistols have them when main weapons do not?

It’s just a way to differentiate between the weaker and the better pistols. There are 2x pistols in each price range.
Main weapons are tied to Battle Ratings, pistols aren’t. This means you can rock a top-tier pistol in BRI matches. And in my ever-so-humble opinion, the top-tier pistols are absolutely worth the outlay if you have some spare silver kicking around.

still. some factions have more cost beneficial pistols. but don,t worry, once you got tier 3 pistols for everone, you will be glad you made it.
