It would be a nice quality of life update for the players. I don’t know why Enlisted doesn’t already show who is AI and who isn’t. Games such as Counter Strike 2 already tell us who is a bot, and there are a couple others I know of that do it.
Today I was playing a match as Japan and I sort of vented at my team because we had lost all but one point (conquest) and I felt bad because one peron responded back saying there was only 3 people on the team. And it was true. One console player, me, and the other guy. And we all stuck through to the end against 10 real players on the US team. We almost won though.
I don’t know if you aware of it, but some time ago player ranks were displayed in scoreboard, but due to balance people become dissapointed of playing with bots vs marshals and start leaving such games.
So the only (IMHO, brainless) solution DF found was removing ranks from scoreboard. (so now players leave after 3-5 minutes from the game start, not simultaneously )
So this problem with balance will block DF from introducing this feature. Sadly…
I don’t care if I am playing with or against BOTS, as long as their IQ is above that of a small mentally challenged child, which is what we have in Enlisted. The BOT play had better improve since we are going to be playing with and against more BOTS in the future.
Yeah. Every AI squad needs an engineer, that way when I issue a “build rally” command, all AI squads build one. And of course whenever I issue an “attack / defend point” they all rush towards the objective.
I just wish in general our AI followed our every move. So as soon as I move they follow the exact same path as I do, windows and all, and if I’m shooting at someone, they shoot in the general vicinity. It can’t be that hard. . . . .
I still do this regardless if i can’t see your rank and furthermore certain nickname decorators serve the same purpose… then again most people i have seen with the old decos are literally washed up scrubs.
Start of game watch the scoreboard… up until the game actually starts all the people in scoreboard are real players but when game starts you’ll notice the scoreboard starts filling with the bots and boom you just count and check in a minute or two for the people who can join early game.
actually not good way to check for bots. most of the games on crossplay on are 10v10 human matches. even when people quit in first few minutes they are usually replaced with another human. some players have late start for whatever reason.
yeah this might not be the best way with actually active games but with crossplay off for console you usually have 3-4 people on the teams and can easily tell when bots trickle in
Name decorators don’t mean anything at all. Usually when I run into someone with the sword decorators (the ones you get from logging in every day for years) they are at the bottom of the scoreboard at the end of the match.
And having more people with name decorators on your team doesn’t mean your team will perform well. In fact it can mean the opposite. I’ve been on teams where 8 of us had name decorators and no one had a single name decorator on the enemy team…and we lost because no one would play the objective.
So yeah its best not to load up a match, look at the amount of name decorators on each team, and then assume what the outcome of the match will be.
That problem is quite common, I have recently played several games that are full of bots but my own squad bots/soldiers are a disaster, they move too far away or get stuck in various parts, and they also do not detect enemies even when they are in front of them.
