Shovel and Axe rework

Shovel:
Currently you can do a little trenching, and on the earlier campaigns it’s fairly significant. On Pacific it seems like the dig depth is quite shallow. The deep trenches really can make a good difference.
I would however really like to see an option (perhaps using “aim” button) to ADD soil rather than remove it. This serves 2 purposes.

  • allows you to fill in trenches in the event that an enemy has trenched to stop tanks.
  • allows some leveling and raised sections to be made. Like if the terrain is too rough to place an AT gun or mounted MG.

Axe:
Currently it’s only use is increased melee damage. I would really like to see it given the ability to remove trees and bushes that would otherwise require a tank to clear. Good sight lines can make a MASSIVE difference. This change would really make carrying an axe worth its price.

It’s a good idea to clear bushes and trees, the trees in this game can be annoying at times, they are so hard that they can perfectly intercept any caliber shells

Perhaps if aimed at dirt it does the standard dig animation and if aimed anywhere else it swings it wide to the sides?

Also got to thinking that if this were the case, perhaps give it a “concussing” effect if it’s not an instant drop? Getting hit with a shovel would have that effect! Lol

My thought is that you can press b to switch modes. Prevent the enemy lying on the ground but you are still digging.

You gotta keep in mind what that would mean for consoles too. There are only so many buttons and combinations you can do before doing unwanted actions at the same time!
